I used to be a statistic. Through JR. High and the first two years of high school I was overweight, out of shape, and not happy with myself. Between my JR and SR years I went from 205lbs and almost 40% body fat to a trim 160, but with still 17% body fat. I had very little muscle whatsoever from the lack of physical activity. The most difficult part was eating right since all around me was temptation. The family would get fast food multiple times a week, sometimes even twice a day. Shortly after my SR year was over I joined the military. What little muscle I had put on after losing so much weight was quickly lost. I have a very fast metabolism and the way the military feeds you in basic was no where near what my body needed. I lost almost all the muscle I had gained and was back down to 156 with still around 14-15% bf but no muscle. All the way through the Army, doing the PT they have us do was not geared towards size, but endurance. For the most part army PT is dangerous, but that's a discussion for another time. My unit deployed to Iraq and that was when I finally put on some serious muscle. I read up on everything that I could and learned how to gain lean mass while managing fat stores. By the time we left theater, I was a trim 176 with nearly an 8 pack. However as soon as we got back to the states I lost 10 lbs from the twice a days we were doing. Figured out what I was doing wrong and fixed it. Today I'm bigger and stronger than I have ever been, while still maintaining a lean physique.
Shortly after getting back to the states I got NASM certified and started training clients soon thereafter.
Why I Love It:
The gym is the one place where you don't compete against anyone else but yourself. I go in knowing what I did the week prior and strive to best myself each and every time.
How I Stay Motivated:
By staring at the next weight up and telling myself I will be lifting it soon.
BB Accomplishments:
Between JR and SR years of HS, lost 40 lbs.
15 months in Iraq, went from 156 with high BF% to 176 at 7% BF.

I'm at Fort Drum where in the winter it's usually in the low 10s-20s during the winter. Little fat never hurt anyone ;)
still making slow, steady progress. can't complain :)
Stay 175lbs, cut up, keep the muscle I've gained, and keep improving in every aspect both mentally and physically.
Goal (Long):
By the end of next year, weigh around 180-185 without losing my six pack anywhere in the process. Also work on my symmetry which is somewhat off. No matter how much I achieve, I will always strive to improve.
Supposedly you're not able to do that. I'm calling BS to that train of thought. In the past two weeks I have GAINED 2 lbs but still lowering my body fat simultaneously.
uhh i hate roomates that act like they have never lived on there own before and expect you to baby them. yet another day at toc duty. funstuff! exactly 9 months left, since yesterday.:) i was asked to do the bodry competition here. i dont know if i am going to. maybe just for fun. i dunno.
why would i be doing pt on my desk? i usually blame the sweat on the heat outside in case any officers or anybody is wondering why the guard is sweating and breathing heavy. or i just blame it on a really bad stomache ache.
lol wtf. is florida his home state? that would be funny if he was from louisiana or something.
and occasionally i do pt at the desk bc i get that bored. but after work i go to the gym biatch. so hows clearing going?

lol that must have sucked living with a fatty then. yea i am in kuwait. its honestly like being back in the states but no booze and less hot chicks. its really not bad here. just extremely humid and boring. man oh man i cant wait for r and r! how was ur fourday? i am jealous i barely got one day off this week and i slept most of the day
