When I Started:
Dec, 2008
How I Started:
As a freshman in college I weighed 117 lbs. I became friends with one of my business vendors and he taught me how to lift...which is something I wanted to do anyway.
Why I Love It:
It keeps my bodyfat relatively low. I feel stronger, look better, and have more energy than most everyone else my age.
How I Stay Motivated:
That's tough. I go through periods. Currently this period has lasted 5 months. I really want to cut my bodyfat for summer 10-12% would be awesome! Of course the muscularity gained from weight training is fantastic! Good looking women eyeballing me doesn't hurt, LOL.
BB Accomplishments:
After about 4 years of solid effort between the ages of 19-23 I went from a weak 117 lbs to a very strong 148. At one point years later I completely fell off the wagon for about 9 months. My donut eating self weighed 168 lbs of fat. I had constant acid reflux and was eating Tums like candy. I felt like crap, looked like crap, my knees hurt... I told myself NEVER AGAIN, dropped 18 lbs, changed my diet, and all my physical problems disappeared. This was about 3 years ago. I've forgotten what a Tums tastes like!

Through no fault of my own last week didn't turn out to well on the exercise front.  I was visciously attacked by some virus on Wednesday but by the weekend I had won the war.  Thank goodness too since it was my first chance to go hunting all year!  I managed to wrangle up 50 lb pig... there...

The deadline to send in your online entry is November 30th. I'm having my wife take snapshots of me the Saturday after this. They have a 150 word or less essay "What a fit body means to me" that I f-cking rocked out on and will post on my blog the day after the deadline. They will pick 60 semi finalists. Then 5 finalists then one. :-o

The body fat measurement tells me the change is fat. When I've changed things around, I've noticed that the change doesn't "keeps your muscles guessing", but keeps my brain guessing about how many reps I can do at some weight.

I am a partially certified geek myself. I have a few certs but I don't have my MCSE and probably never will...slowly got into web design and find I love that much much more. (plus freelance-wise it pays very well). My job requires me to know mac, pc, servers, phone system, and web design. Everyday is different..you gotta love that.

Hmmm, maybe I need to start sprinting :-) I gave up on the low-bar position. Couldn't make it stay. Sounds like it works for you though.

Dinosaur training involves heavy work on squats, deadlifts, bench press, overhead press, grip work, sand bags. I haven't done a "dinosaur" program yet.

I have been working in the real world for various networking companies for the last 10 years. It's time to do something else. Thank you for the kind words.

Did it about 5 weeks ago and have had to cut back on a lot of isolation lifts. It's getting better but its gonna be a couple more weeks before all lifts are restored. I did it when I decided to go heavy on skulls. Hope all is well.

Thanks for the well wishes JD. Getting there, but not quite over it. Work wore me out today, so no gym tonight.

I'm laughing. I figured you were a Navy guy. That is how the service avi's started. A Marine bodyspace friend objected to my Navy SEAL shirt, so I put on a Marine shirt in the next avi...and you can guess the rest from there. I'll put up Army next! So Go Navy is cool..or Marines, or Air Force or Army. LOl!

Thanks. That's one thing I myself am proud of and nobody can take away from me, my work ethic. I hope it's contagious. I goof round a lot on here, but I'm the type who likes to lead by example and not get up on a soapbox and preach empty, self serving blls-t. Thanks for acknowledging my hard labor. Whew! Just can back from legs. Man'o man!
