Overall Goal: Do something I've never done to get something I've never had.
Fit Status:
Now I'm using enough weight on front squats that my core gives out before my legs. Good exercise!

When I Started:
Dec, 2008
How I Started:
As a freshman in college I weighed 117 lbs. I became friends with one of my business vendors and he taught me how to lift...which is something I wanted to do anyway.
Why I Love It:
It keeps my bodyfat relatively low. I feel stronger, look better, and have more energy than most everyone else my age.
How I Stay Motivated:
That's tough. I go through periods. Currently this period has lasted 5 months. I really want to cut my bodyfat for summer 10-12% would be awesome! Of course the muscularity gained from weight training is fantastic! Good looking women eyeballing me doesn't hurt, LOL.
BB Accomplishments:
After about 4 years of solid effort between the ages of 19-23 I went from a weak 117 lbs to a very strong 148. At one point years later I completely fell off the wagon for about 9 months. My donut eating self weighed 168 lbs of fat. I had constant acid reflux and was eating Tums like candy. I felt like crap, looked like crap, my knees hurt... I told myself NEVER AGAIN, dropped 18 lbs, changed my diet, and all my physical problems disappeared. This was about 3 years ago. I've forgotten what a Tums tastes like!
Do something I've never done to get something I've never had.
Goal (Long):
I would love to be 160 @ 10% body fat. For now my main goal is to get to 12% body fat regardless of weight. I figure after summer is over I'll really push to gain some weight but for now I'm settling for about 150 @ 12%...
The last couple of days I've seen this guy in the gym who is probably mid 20's. His physique is ok but nothing to write home about. Yesterday he put a bunch to much weight on a straight bar and proceeded to use his entire body to perform some curls. I audibly gasped and winced when I saw...
Hey JD, or should i call you mr math! :) my dad is a math teacher and everything we did was calculated out! haha have a very merry and very blessed Christmas!
Merry Christmas. That back routine is very grueling. Resist the urge to chop sets off it (11 in all) and go to complete failure and you will see great results in as little as three weeks.
Oh thank you! I think I'll be fine. I had the same issue a couple of years ago so at least I know what to expect. I planned for it in terms of my workouts...I'll just go high rep/light weight for a little while...Happy Weekend!
Glad to hear you are doing well and really pushing yourself to obtain your goals. Keep up the hard work! Training is going well for me. I've been pushing myself really hard and noticing good gains. Can't wait to diet again for a show, but I've got to be patient =) Hope you have a great day!
No probs mate - you will greatly benefit from compounds. High pulls are a variation of upright rows and are intense. My advise would be to focus on the explosivness of the lifts rather than the weight. G'teed you will be toast after a couple of sets. Keep me posted!
