Background

When I Started: Feb 1996
HOW I STARTED:

I was extremely over weight as a youth, till I heard a girl call me a gross fat F&#%, I became bulimic and anorexic, for 3 years, lost my hair and experienced other health issues. My brother got me on the right track 15 years ago, been working out ever since.

WHY I LOVE IT:

I love body building because at the end of the day when you look in the mirror, you know you are 100% responsible for what you see looking back, if you don't like it you have the ability to change it. You can be like a artist, a little more here a little less there... if it were only as easy as using modeling clay...

New Years Resolution.. ARGHHHHHHHH!!!

Posted in Training  :  Dec 28, 2010 6:01pm
So starting in the last couple of weeks the gym has been getting more and more busy with all the people and their "New Years Resolutions" can I just say STOP, Do yourself and me a favor and don't waste your time just stay home. All you are doing is interrupting the people that are there and have been there day in and day out for years. The new years crowd comes in and sits on the machines and takes up space, grabs every different weight of dumbbell to figure out what weight will be good for them to use in poor form in front of the mirror flexing and groaning trying to impress the cou...

10 is not the Magic Number.... Or is it?

Posted in Training  :  Dec 28, 2010 6:01pm
Setting a realistic rep range is not an easy thing to do. When you think about your set do you think about contractual movement of the muscle squeezing the crap out of it, and isolating the muscle, repping till you reach absolute failure. Or do you think last set was 15 reps this set is 12 do your 12 reps then stop? For most people it's the later. Before we ever start to move the weight we set a number in our head and when we reach the number stop, even if we have not pushed the muscle to failure. For most guys we are all looking to add a little size, if this is not you then there is no need t...

It's Official My first 5 lbs!

Posted in Training  :  Dec 28, 2010 6:01pm

So it's official I have gained 5 lean lbs of muscle being a vegan. In actuality it's more like 8 lbs but with water and the way the body can fluctuate I am calling it a solid 5 lbs of lean mass. I weigh myself on an empty stomach first thing in the a.m. with only my boxers on, using the same scale, this way there is no room for variation of scale or adjustments for clothing. For those of you that have been following my post and Journey to body build as a vegan, this has not been an easy task, the amount of food I have to ingest in a day is at times unbearable. I actually get tired of chewin

guest Hello there mate, Im currently 9 weeks into my training regime and am a lacto-vegetarian. Getting straight to the point, the reason i am dropping you a message today is for some nutritional advice. I need some whole food meal suggestions to incorporate into my diet. I was wondering if you would share an example of what your daily/weekly meal plan consisted of. Look forward to hearing from you. Gurpreet Singh Apr 23, 2010 6:26am
