My friend, a football player, was always working out in high school. He was big but not very lean. As a swimmer and wrestler, I thought I would show him how it's done and get beefed up the right way.
Why I Love It:
I thrive for the pump. It clears my head so I can focus better on schoolwork and other important issues.
Lifting is my hobby. It should never be more important than work, relationships, or God.
How I Stay Motivated:
When it gets tough I think of the POW's that had no choice but to struggle, work and starve to stay alive.
Compliments, gains, and constantly succeeding.
Quotes that Get Me Pumped:
"Fight 'til There's No More Fighting."
"Dig Deep!!"
"Establish the muscle-mind connection."
"I ain't NEVER scared!"
"I CAN LIFT THIS...EXPLODE!"
"The only competition is ME."
"The harder I try, the stronger I get."
"W.I.N. = What's Important Now"
"It's my journey. I enjoy blazing past limits."
"Take out the (mental) trash."
"All you've got is now."
I hated every minute of training, but I said, ''Don't quit. Suffer now and live the rest of your life as a champion.'' -Muhammed Ali

this was a while back when all i did was swim and run
I think lifting has helped my swimming, but I don't know the point where it might hurt. I know it is kind of a balance. I just raced this weekend and did 56.66 in the 100 yrd free, and I know the strength helped. Has lifting now effected your swimming? Thanks,
thanks for the comment, and yeah I will have pictures up once I feel comfortable with the cut. I've lost 8.5 inches of my waist so things are going well :). So I assure you I will soon enough not "be all talk" even though i don't quite understand what I "talk" about :)
