In 2005 I moved out of state, had a job change and let life get in the way of working out and eating right
It had been touch and go when it came to working out and eating out all the time had become a nasty habit.
I don't know what took me so long to notice the extra weight I had put on ...but the issue sure smacked me upside the head one day when I slipped on a pair of jeans and couldn't button them---GASP.
I took a good look at myself in the mirror and found a flabby version of myself staring back at me.
I didn't have my usual support system here - my work out buddies - are all back up north so I had to find other means of motivation and inspiration and that led me here to BB.com
There are a wonderful group of people on this site that are dedicated, motivating and inspiring. I found a wealth of info on the site and continue to make progress.
Why I Love It:
I love working out because it helps relieve stress, and overall working out makes me feel energized and focused. When I work out I feel better on all levels -physically, mentally, and emotionally.
How I Stay Motivated:
Reading success stories, seeing before and after pictures, writing down both short term and long term goals, visualizing and actually seeing the fruits of my labor.
I've been told I should give competing shot, and I'm tossing around the idea - my only hesitation is I hear others say with such low BF levels it takes a big toll on you - I need to research it more. I want to look good, but not at the expense of feeling like crap.

(11/8/09) I made decent progress in 6 months. From March through August of this year. From 26% BF to 19%. I actually saw my abbs coming in --which I never seen before, so I was thrilled with my progress (BIG thanks to Scivation for help there)
And now on to the next challenge!
Over the next few months I'll be working on growth and strength. I'd like to add some size to my legs - build up them quads and calves, along with the shoulders and lats to carve out that V-taper.
I haven't written in a while, but that doesn't mean I'm dead or have given up LOL, I'm still having at it!! I made great progress since March with dropping BF and gaining muscle. I saw my upper abbs come in for the very first time, which was a huge milestone ...I jumped for joy.

Thank you! Honestly, I put in 5 days/week to weights...one day is shoulders only...so the key really is to isolate the muscle & pick out 4-5 exercises for each body part :)
