Background

When I Started: Jan 2012
HOW I STARTED:

A few reasons I guess,I didn’t like the fact that I had let myself go again. I had lost 30 pounds a few years ago and gained it all back. I was sick of looking for things to wear and would say “I have nothing to wear” but yet I had lots of clothes but none that fit me. It’s been a dream of mine to one day compete in a Figure competition. There is one coming up in Nov of 2012 and I want to try it out. I’m pretty much on my own and have a lot to learn yet. I love the feeling I have now working out and getting healthy. Things I had to do for myself in order for this to work this time. I had to give up drinking and smoking, both were really hard for me, but I haven’t had a drink, it will be 5 months on the 25th of Feb. I’m so happy about that and I don’t smoke it been around 7 months now. I was just a occasional smoker but not anymore. The second best thing I ever did was get rid of the people in my life that were negative. This was also hard because I cut out family members and some old friends. Once I did that it was like the flood gates opened and all my stress was released. The third thing I did was change the way I trained at the gym and how I ate. Just healthy and low sodium and minimal sugar. I got a good weight training program and then I was off. I did this gradually because I found the last 10 or so times that I tried this I went to hard and to fast and it set me up to fail each time. I still have my cheat days on the weekend and eat clean all week. As the time gets closer to the competition I will do all that I need to do. So the forth thing I did was put up posters or rip the pages out of the magazines of girls that I wanted to look like. So it’s the last thing I see when I go to bed and the first thing I see when I go to sleep. This is the one I love the most because, I get the most motivation for this. I’m so happy to go to the gym, I actually get butterflies in my stomach I’m so excited. I just love it!!!

WHY I LOVE IT:

I love the way it makes me feel, and I can see my body change all the time. If im stressed and having a bad day and I don’t want to go to the gym, I make myself go and I feel so much better. There have been times when I wanted to sleep in or drive pass the gym because I’m so tired but that’s what I did the last few times and I know if I miss it just one time it will be so easy to keep doing it. Plus I need to do this for me and my heath and sanity

How do other people with a budget still eat right??

I'm spending about $250-300 every 15 days. This is just all fresh veggies and some fresh and frozen fruit. Only fish and chicken, extra lean ground turkey, tuna and whole wheat pasta, just things like that. I'm trying to eat all natural and no processed food. I really want to do a show in Nov. of this year, i still have a long way to go but I don’t know if I can keep up with the money part of it for the food. Is this average of what i can expect? I also live in Canada, I’m planning on putting in my own garden this summer it will help out a lo

Will tattoos harm you in placing in a show??

I would like to do a show in Nov. of this year and wanted to get the rest of my tattoo finished. When it's all said and done i will have full sleeve, on my right arm. This will be my first time doing anything like this (fitness competiton). I still have a long way to go, trying to do this all myself, im kind of at a loss. So any info you can give will help a lot. Also this will be in Canada around N.B


I guess my question is, should i wait or will it make a difference?

Drewcost22 I have a ton of tats too and know people who do. It wont harm you. The tanning helps and the judges are a lot better than back in the days. Feb 2, 2012 9:06am
