First my goals were more bodybuilding oriented but I never got past 195 lbs without getting chunky. Now I've gotten into the endurance thing and cut down to about 165 lbs for races. I've sacrificed a lot of muscle in the name of speed, but so far its been worth it.
Why I Love It:
I get out of it exactly what I put in.
How I Stay Motivated:
"The difference between great people and everyone else is that great people create their lives actively, while everyone else is created by their lives,
passively waiting to see where life takes them next. The difference between the two is the difference between living fully and just existing."
Michael E. Gerber
BB Accomplishments:
In 2007 I had heart surgery. After that went well, I decided to see what my body was made of, so I got into endurance multisport. Even though I have a long way to go to make up for the cardiovascular deficit my heart put me in and I battle the remnants of my condition every time I train, I've come a long way and plan on exploring my potential.

My new article is up, in which I review the 2010 Ironman World Championship results from Kona on the Big Island of Hawaii. CLICK HERE to read. "Kona recap - the champs are back" is up live.
Andrew...you are one truly dedicated athlete. To aspire to your level of fitness is a challenge, but you push yourself even higher to take on ever greater challenges! 5 Ironman and/or marathons! Amazing drive and dedication!
Hey! Yeah. I'm gearing down some... running a lot - getting ready for the Zeitgeist half marathon... I want to run one before I start training for the 70.3 next summer.
Entschuldigung ich habe zu viel comments im moment. Ich arbeite bei die Amerikanisher Luftwaffe am die base Ramstein im Südwest Deutschland. Vielen dank für diene respekt. I have worked out and lived in Germany for a long time. Your German is way better than an American who studied German. How long did you live here? I really enjoy studying the more colorful people of Europe and HCA is certainly one of those.
Hey man just saw your request, hope you're enjoying the summer and your bike!
Yeah the leg is a major bummer, so many years of cycling and weight training seem to be washing away as i lose muscle ugh
the velodrome is one about two hours south of Toronto in a city called London. Probably 2 hours North of Detroit.
Riding in a velodrome was amazing, can't wait to be back on 2 wheels
Andrew, thanks for the add! Man you're a top notch athlete. Instead of letting the world pass you up...you got in the fast lane lead the way! Kudos for conquering a seemingly formidable physical challenge. Und sehr intersant, sie hast einen Schriftsteller zitieren von Hans Christian Anderson
Congratulations on over coming such odds. Some people would be afraid to push their bodies so hard after having heart surgery. You look health and fit...that is a blessing.
