How I Started:
In 2007 I got serious about diet and exercise and lost 35lbs, I also dropped my body fat from 29% to 23%.
In the fall of 2007 and winter of 2008 a failing hip sidelined my lower body work and eliminated cardio work. I lost muscle and gained a few pounds.
I had a Hip resurfacing on April 22nd, and once I am fully recovered I plan to lose another 30lbs this summer.
Why I Love It:
My time in the gym is magic, time to think, sweat, clear your head, and change your body.
How I Stay Motivated:
My key motivation is to be healthier and more active. I have a young family and I have spent too much time on the sidelines with sore a hip in the past. I am ready to run and play once the new hip heals up.
BB Accomplishments:
My goal in 2007 was to lose 40lbs, I lost 35lbs and met my other goal of looking like a good before picture for a supplement ad.

Taken at 210lbs about 23% body fat. My goal is to be under 200lbs by the end of the year. Which would be a 40lbs loss for 2007.

Goal (Long):
I have had a bad hip my whole life, the last 6 years it also became really painful, and last year it was almost impossible to do cardio. I lost 30lbs in 2007 mostly with weigh training and diet. I had my hip resurface in April and I am recovering fast. I can do Cardio every day now, and the weight is falling off. My goal is 185lbs by the end of August, my 42nd birthday.
I entered a Gold's Body Challenge on January 30th. I just had my final measurements done at the end of the Challenge on April 27th. I only lost 5.5lbs during this time, but I did lose 4% body fat. I went from 29.9% bf in January to 25.9% bf on April 27th.
