36

Occupation:
Executive Chef
Personal Website:
Gym:
Free Weights, A Treadmill and a Stationary Bike
Gym Location:
At Home in my basement
When I Started:
1999
How I Started:
Being a Chef, I had sampled too much of my own cooking and gained a considerable amount of weight. In fact, I know I topped over 250 in 1998, but I had not looked at the scale couple of years beforehand. When my first child was born, I looked at myself in the mirror and told myself I can't be a 'Fat Dad' because I knew I would have to keep up with my kids.
Why I Love It:
After doing a triathalon last year...I am heading for the Iron Man!
How I Stay Motivated:
One, I have to keep after my kids-- an 9 year old and 2 year old.
Two, I have to keep myself in shape after eating my entire day away. It's a work hazard!
BB Accomplishments:
Able to lose over 60 pounds and gain muscle to prove it. It took along time to get this, but I am only half way there

Striving for the Iron Man! Working hard and steady!
Goal (Long):
As a youth, I was not into exercise or sports. then being in the Restaurant Business and being surrounded by food and drinks, I was sucked into a bad eating and overall laziness. When my son was born in 1999, I realized I did not want to be an obese father. Hell I knew I had to keep up with him and not run out of breath. Now since I have been working out (mainly running, then weightlifting) I want to go for my whole life and be strong. I want to set an example for my son and now my dadughter that exercise is not just for a sport but for life.
Hey been working out rather hard over the past few months. Been biking and running, starting to the swim portion as well. I am starting to getr focused on the TRI mentality. But I have been doing just as much weights as possible.
Vacation is right around the corner. I am hitting...
I have created various routines throughout the last few years. I have been trying to go more towards focused areas to achieve ultimate results. yet on top the following workout I try to run atleast 4 miles every other day and bike atleast twice on my stationary bike.
Also, I have been...
Hey! Russ... thanks for stopping by!.... yeah!... I'm hanging in there!... we recently moved from Nebraska to Texas... it took me awhile to get back to the workouts!... Looks like you're doing a great job keeping your results!... keep liftin', Bert
Hey, thanks my friend. Yeah, me too. 2 climbs in a month is a big deal. I think I will be ready though. Working pretty hard to make sure I am. When is your next Tri?
Thanks for the comment! Good luck in your triathlon. I did several last year but am concentrating stictly on bb for a while. I ran a 5K on Mem. Day and it practically killed me. The 27 lb weight gain has stiffled my running career for a while!
I don't know whether it is motivation or just doing it so often that it becomes part of my routine. The mirror helps motivate when you start making progress.
Just solid transformation into an impressive upper body from Nov. to now. Profile pic says it all. The diet, weight training and running after the 8 yr. old has proved you right. Solid definition expecially on broad shoulders and chest/pecs. Great job CHEF. Andre
