Have you ever had a lifting injury?
Yes
What type of injury was it? How long were you injured? How did you recover?
smashed a finger on a weight got a subungual hematoma. killed a nail. took a few months to grow back. i finished my workout that day and went back the next day. used nsaids for pain and anti-inflammatory properties, wrapped a bandaid around the fingertip so the nail wouldnt catch and rip off before it was ready.
i also developed a problem with tendonitis. i tried wrapping my forearm, working through the pain, taking nsaids, a few things. i found a roll on joint support thing that really numbed and helped the pain. while doing all this i was narrowing down what it was in my workout plan that was causing the problem, i found it was upright rows and since they, while a useful part of my shoulder workout, were not a necessary part, i removed them and my problem went away.smashed a finger on a weight got a subungual hematoma. killed a nail. took a few months to grow back. i finished my workout that day and went back the next day. used nsaids for pain and anti-infla...more

probably improper form or lack of care. however there is always a chance for an accident, and if your spending 5 hours a week lifting, multiplied by 52 weeks a year, multiplied by however many years you end up with a large time frame in which you have a chance to be injured. being careful and using proper form helps to reduce the risk of accidents, but they are statistically inevitable. if something is probable to happen and given enoguh time, it will happen.probably improper form or lack of care. however there is always a chance for an accident, and if your spending 5 hours a week lifting, multiplied by 52 weeks a year, multiplied by however many years ...more
