I've lost 123 pounds since Jan. 2008. I want to keep losing more and continue building muscle.
Goal (Long):
123 pounds lost so far. Getting there slowly!Tired of these plateaus! Trying to keep losing, building muscle and continuing to build up endurance so I can live healthier and enjoy life.

That is good your mimicking the movements. Its all about good technique, over power and strength. You need the technique in order to transfer over that power and strength. Yes the water was freezing, have you ever seen a cat fall into water? That was like me, I was out of the water as quickly as I fell into the water..lol. Thanks for appreciating my 8.5 k in 30 min. Most people don't understand what it takes to do that. I hope your training is going well.
I've been switching over to out door rowing. I tipped over this week and ended up in the water, I didn't get one of my oars fully out of the water on the recovery and lost my balance. It wouldn't have been so bad, but I live in Canada, and the water was absolutely freezing..LOL..10 is way to high for you, 4-5 would be good for you. Hope you had a wonderfully weekend. :)
A brand new indoor rower will have a drag factor of about 90–100 at the 1 damper setting, and about 210–220 at the 10 setting. It is much better to work with lower drag factor settings (110–140) while improving your speed, form and muscle coordination. Many of the world's top heavyweight competitors use settings in this range. Just thought I'd let you know. :)
You mean drag factor,
1. Press Menu|Back until the Main Menu is displayed.
2. Select More Options.
3. Select Display Drag Factor.
Take a few strokes. After a couple of seconds, the PM will display the drag factor. Much like selecting a gear on a bicycle, drag factor is a personal choice. You should experiment with different damper settings (and resulting drag factors) in order to find the setting that works best for you. This should help you out quite a bit next time you row.
Happy Halloween to you too CJ! I did dress up, did you? I had made a mini-haunted house to scare all the kids. A neighbor counted 1800 trick-or-treaters and then quit counting, I think they were between 1900 and 2000 this year!
Good luck breaking the plateau, doing things a little different can be very refreshing sometimes, I've actually been changing my routine enough to keep things interesting, but I'm still keeping at it! Take care, CJ, It's good to hear from you
Hey CJ, work is pretty crazy still, but not letting it stop me from hitting the gym, I just got back from a week of resting, and I'm sure as all could be from my 3 workouts since I've been back, its great! How are things with you? Workouts going well?
