When I Started:
Jul, 2006
How I Started:
I started my love of fitness when I joined the military. I was always in the cardio room, but never ventured into the weight room, until one of my mentors took me under her wing and introduced me to the world of weight training. I haven't looked back since then. She and my current trainer have both taught me that hard work and dedication truely pays off.
Why I Love It:
I fell in love when I began seeing dramatic changes in my physical appearance. Never did I thought it possible, it was something I only aspired, but it has now become my reality. The gym's my second home. It has become a life style now, and I love every minute of it. It keeps me balanced physically, mentally, spiritually and emotionally.
How I Stay Motivated:
My motivation is seeing progress and keeping the big picture in mind. I love seeing the muscles hard at work. There is so much to learn and I'm like a sponge wanting to learn everything there is to know about fitness, leading a healthy lifestyle, and bettering myself inside and out. There's always room for improvement in everything you do. Once you've reached your goal, you just want more of it, and see where you can take yourself. When I'm in the gym pushin out that last set, I keep in mind that I'm up against no one but myself. The sky's the limit, it's up to you how far you can push yourself, and how hard you're willing to work at it. Go hard, or go home!

make great gains and focus on bringing up my trouble areas during the off-season, and maintain muscle fullness for the next competition
Goal (Long):
Growing up I was always the 'big kid.' I keep that in the back of my mind to remind myself how far I've come. This is the most fit I have ever been, and I'm loving every minute of it. It has become one of my passions in life. I want to learn as much as I can about leading a healthy lifestyle, so I can then in turn try to encourage those around me who are after the same passion for improving themselves. I still have a long road ahead of me, and I'm looking forward to what 2009 will bring my way. This new year has brought a new drive in me that has kept me charging forward
she embodies a strong female figure. she brought me into the weight room and introduced me to the world of fitness and the lifestyle that comes with it, helping to fuel the fire and passion in me. i admire her focus and determination. no matter what obstacles may come in her way, she keeps charging forward
my coach, "The Beast," has a strong drive to succeed in everything he puts his mind to. he's taken me under his wing, saw the potential in me, even when i didn't see it. i've come a long way, and owe it to him. he put it best when he said, "we chose to walk the path less traveled, and if no one will walk it with us, we walk ALONE." thanks coach for shining new light onto the world of fitness, for being my mentor, and most of all for being my friend. there's no turnin back now!
