When I Started:
Jan, 2005
How I Started:
After gaining about 30+ in my late twenties (from celebrations after softball games, too many pizza dinners and burgers, etc) I wanted to get back to a healthy weight. I started long distance running, and eventually added weight training to the mix. I've lost 25 of those pounds of fat, and am looking to keep going. I want to get into the best shape of my life.
Why I Love It:
Working out is 'me' time -- something that gets harder to find as you get older.
How I Stay Motivated:
Looking good for my wife, and being a healthy role model for my children.
To be physically, financially, spiritually, maritially, and family fit in 2009.
Goal (Long):
#1. My marriage and family are the most important thing in my life. Without it, all else crumbles. Thus, my goal is to constantly work at being the best husband and father I can be.
#2. Financially, I want to be debt free (except for the house) by my 40th birhtday. I also want to be on Dave Ramsey's Baby Step 4 by then. Being financially fit helps all other goals.
#3. Without health, you have nothing. Physically, I want to have a 'Steve Reeves' type physique by my 40th birthday (in four years). I also want to take care of my liver, as I have Hepatitis C. I want to be around for my kids grandkids.
#4. Spiritually, I want to be content, love my neighbor, and acknowledge and respect the higher power and know that that power loves us.
I had been trying to do the Arnold workouts from his Encylopedia of Bodybuilding. The problem is, they're these six day workouts. I think if you have time to really sleep (like 10 hours) you could pull these off.
But for me, they were just too much. So I've decided to go back to what's...
Hey! Yeah I know. I have been gone for a bit. I not only let myself get derailed, I didn’t dish out the encouragement to my friends. I apologize. I know I don’t have to but I have found that my friends help me stay on track and I hope I do you as well. So please forgive me for abandoning you and fill me in on what you have been up to these last couple of months. How are your workouts? Diet? Motivation? What are you looking forward too? Have your goals changed?
I don't mind, I like the long distance running but I have bad knees and can't run for a long time, I need to find a good cardio to go along with my circuit training.
hey bud.. not bad.. gaining some more weight and getting stronger.. getting some def in pecs and can see some separation, but need more of a tan to show it.. how are you doing? any progress pics lately?
