How I Started:
Other people in my family are really into "fitness" and they kind of got me into it too. I ran Track and Cross Country in middle and high school, and pretty much became addicted to running, and subsequently working out, in general. From there, I also became very interested in general health, and following some health problems, extremely interested.
Why I Love It:
It makes me feel good. I'm happier, I have more energy, and I just feel better (physically and emotionally) in general.
How I Stay Motivated:
It's really hard! My brother and sister-in-law are good help, because we share this interest.
I've been stuck at 142 for quite some time, but I also have not been NEAR dedicated enough!
My goal is 135- 137 but I want to lean out quite and bit and tone up.
I'm curvy, with a lot of fat around my middle, hips and thighs. My upper body is quite a bit smaller.
I've got a decently muscular build, so underneath all the jiggle, my legs are actually decent. But obviously, you can't see that ;) Also want to bulk arms/ upper body a bit. Makes me feel powerful!
In terms of the actual lb. droppage, I'm aiming for end of May, but I also need to keep better track of my body fat % so I am realistic and don't get discouraged!
Long-Long-Long term goals (in order of likely-hood) are to start sparring and to run a marathon. I've always been a runner, though in light of some health problems, I was 'out' for about a year, and have been in mediocre shape as far as endurance, speed, and other running stats for another year.
Running makes me happy; makes me who I am, so I want to really get into it again.
As far as sparring, well, I'm a pretty aggresive person when I actually get angry (rare). KB/ Sparring helps me channel that, thereby improving other aspects of my life.
Plus, it makes me feel GREAT!
I say, in life, everyone has a sort of 'vice'. For some it's drugs, some it's working out, etc, etc.
Mine is control. Always has been. There is no greater high than that of feeling like I'm in total control (kinda risky sometimes..), which is something I get easily from working out, watching my diet, but Especially from fighting!
Sparring is just a legitimate way for me to do it....
Got home Wednesday!! I'm so happy I almost feel guilty. But of course, I miss... everything.
Anyway, I did alright while I was there. More running and yoga than usual, less cross training. Lost a little bit of muscle and gained a little bit of fat, to be sure. However, I'm SOOOOO back on...
Awww why you unmotivated?
You should check my bodyspace and scroll down where it has the videos and watch the one in the middle with the woman. Those are really motivating I think, before and after. Good luck!
Hey Chris; You have a nice profile pic displayed. Good luck with your workouts in achieving the goals that you've sey for yourself. Best regards, Scott
