When I Started:
Aug, 2008
How I Started:
I first began lifting at age 12. I had a father who lifted and I was impressed by him when I was younger. Shoot, I still am now. This is a restart for me. A little over 5 years ago I broke my back. At that time I was very into bodybuilding. I wasn't all that huge, but I was happy with the strength I had. That body is behind me now, due to the over 5 year layoff from training and the fear of causing injury, but I still maintain a descent knowledge of bodybuilding. I began my transformation this time in May of 2008 and I weighed 246 lbs. So now I have decided to push myself once again and see what I can accomplish.
Why I Love It:
I enjoy the feeling of accomplishment. Not just watching my body transform, but also to add heavier weight, that I thought at one time would be way too heavy for me to lift, to my exercises and be able to correctly use it. I crave that feeling during and after an intense workout.
How I Stay Motivated:
My girl, Heidi, first and mostly. She always says I look fine, but I know she deserves better and I want to give that to her. I also want my kids to look at me, be proud and strive towards fitness themselves. I have to say my dad still motivates me alot too. I want to make sure everyone knows that you can be laid-up with an injury, lose what you had, and still come back to accomplish great things.
BB Accomplishments:
So far, just going to the gym, eating right and actually seeing some progress :)
