I'm slowly transforming from the skinny kid to the buff guy.
I've always been the skinny kid. I hit 135 lbs in high school, and I've floated around there ever since. I had some girl troubles in the early part of 2012, and in February decided it was time to start making myself physically appealing (originally with the intent of winning the girl back, but so much for that).
A buddy got me started with weight lifting when I was in college (2005ish), so I knew mostly how to keep from hurting myself. I wasn't following up with nutrition/supplements then, and it took me months to work up to 140 lbs. I got a really bad sinus/ear infection that knocked me out of the gym for a couple of weeks, and when I returned, I was down to 132, and kind've lost my motivation.
I DID really get into running, though, and had been doing that semi-religiously ever since. Fast forward to Feb 2012 again, and between the emotional stress and my normal just-running routine, I was down to 125 lbs. I started eating better (and more), hitting the weights again (often at a hotel gym, as my job requires alot of travel), and reading up on and taking appropriate supplements. When they started renovating the gym where I work, I bit the bullet and joined up with one in town - I enjoy it so much more than the work one, I've with it and been able to do more as a result. As of my writing this (March 2013), I've put on nearly 35 pounds - I'm literally in the best shape of my life!
I haven't ever had a huge problem with body fat, but I've always had a bit of a paunch on me. I'm trying to get rid of that while getting bigger elsewhere; I've nearly hit my "initial" goal of 160 lbs. Ultimately, I'd like to get to 180, but I realize that's a long way off. I've already pushed through one plateau, though, so I'm confident I can do whatever I set myself to!
