When I Started:
Aug, 1998
How I Started:
I wanted to change my apperance, so I picked up a pair of 10 pound dumbells from the store and started with those.
Why I Love It:
It gives a kind of release and a channel to focus lots of pent up energy. Also because if done right, it can help one get closer to perfection. (But is perfection ever possible?)
How I Stay Motivated:
Keeping a journal/log book has been the most useful motivator and has helped keep me on track. I can make the fine adjustments to my lifting that would otherwise be impossible without the log. (I can't remember 5lb increments for 20 seperate exercises!)

I want the same thing everyone else wants - to have little bodyfat, an adequate amount of muscle, and a physique that I can show off and be proud about. Really, I want to be able to have confidence when I go to hit on people ;-) and I want to be abl
Goal (Long):
My new, current, long-term goal is to around 180lbs with less than 14% bodyfat before March. This is when Spring Break is, and a bunch of friends and I have plans to hit up Cancun, so I want to be able to play and have fun without being embarrassed about my apperance! Hopefully, at 180, I'll have little bodyfat and plenty of muscle to show.
What do you think about people who "grunt" loudly while working out? Do you do it?
I don't really care as long as it doesn't grab my attention. I don't "grunt" exactly, but I do make some noise.

What type of outfit do you usually wear when you workout? Why?
T-shirt and shorts... sometimes a compression short underneath, especially if I know the exercises I'm intending to perform tend to have my shorts fall to groin-level. I also wear my old wrestling shoes, mostly because I wouldn't use them any other time if I didn't use them for lifting and boxing. And let's not forget gloves with wrist supports!T-shirt and shorts... sometimes a compression short underneath, especially if I know the exercises I'm intending to perform tend to have my shorts fall to groin-level. A few days ago I was involved in a car accident. Needless to say, I'm somewhat messed up, physically, from the ordeal, and I haven't been able to get into the gym. This has made me sad, but it isn't totally lost. I've decided that I'll use these next 2 weeks (which are off from school, so...
