When my husband was in Iraq the first time, I started running because I wanted to be able to run with him when he got back. I got stronger and faster and loved how I felt. And I surprised him when we went running together! Then I started adding in weight training and got hooked. I'm still addicted four years later. Every time I reach a goal, I make a bigger one.
Why I Love It:
I love how my body has changed and I want more. Working out makes me feel strong. I love to challenge myself. And I love being an inspiration to other women my age.
How I Stay Motivated:
Honestly, it isn't hard because I love to work out. I go crazy if I can't get to the gym for a couple of days. The hard part for me is eating clean. I stay motivated to eat right by looking at the mirror at my tummy every morning and looking at pictures of women I admire. Sometimes I think, I'm almost there. At other times I think, I should not have eaten that pie!
BB Accomplishments:
I don't compete. It's not something I'm interested in right now, but I've learned to never say never. Right now I just want to keep pushing myself to be as fit and strong as possible.
Forum Signature:
Work harder. Lift heavier. Take chances if you really want it. How bad do you want it?

What supplements do you take immediately after your workout? Why?
Sometimes I take L-Glutamine. It really helps with recovery and muscle soreness. I usually go home and eat a good breakfast right after my workout. If I can't, I keep some food in my gym bag.. things like tuna, rice cakes, nuts, boiled eggs, cheese, etc.Sometimes I take L-Glutamine. It really helps with recovery and muscle soreness. It varies. Right now taking creatine and nitrix oxide, and I usually drink a protein shake slowly during my weight training.
Thanks! That pic was taken right in the good ol' German forest itself. I left Germnay in '97. It took me about 4 months to regret that decision. keep up the great work. You are certainly what the site is all about. An example to motivate others!
Hi Cassie! It always awesome to see anther hard working athlete in Germany. Keep up the great work and you like you should be hitting the stage at Stuttgart on 22 August or the US Forces Europe Champs in September!
Don't worry...people will come back. Especially when bikini season starts. March will be your busiest month, I predict. :) Enjoy your family time...those kids grow up sooo fast!!
rofl....so things have been hoppin' since Halloween, eh? Got it. ;) Getting ready to start my contest prep for my spring comps. Ugh, is it that time again? And would you believe? My training clientele has tripled since December (all those new year's resolutions, I guess). How's your PT business going? I'm sure you are an amazing trainer and you kick some serious @ss! :)
