When I Started:
Apr, 2009
How I Started:
I woke up April 1st and was brushing my teeth when I looked up into the mirror. Holy sh-t !! I didn’t recognize myself. I thought we had an intruder in the house ! Once I knew it was safe to come out I realized I needed to do something and it couldn’t wait any longer. I went directly to the computer and typed in " bodybuilding ". I surfed bodybuilding.com and found my new love.( Another one ! ) I couldn’t believe how informative the site was so I joined right then. Took a photo and posted it and also used it for my background on my computer so I had to look at it everyday. I then went to TNT gym around the corner and purchased a membership. I got 4 sessions with a trainer. Session one was measurements, goals etc. The other 3 sessions were HELL !!! OMG I literally went to the car and sat there for 15mins before leaving in fear I would cause an accident. Good news was - I would come home and see FAT BASTARD on my desktop. Back to the gym the next session. I was going M-W-F for most of the time but started going more often when I knew my body could handle it. I now go 7 days a week but only cardio & abs T-TH-SAT-SUN. My new diet & exercise plan seems to be working just fine !!
Why I Love It:
Bodybuilding has changed my lifestyle tremendously. I look forward to every workout and love to see the results. I'm healthier and I feel great !!!
How I Stay Motivated:
I stay motivated by seeing results.I also get motivated by seeing others progress while getting some nice comments from other members.
BB Accomplishments:
I became an inspiration to someone else.
Transformation of the Week - Over 40
After losing 45 lbs I want to motivate and inspire others to become more healthy while increasing my overall size and strength.
Goal (Long):
I am a former Marine but have been discharged for 22 yrs and have had no excercise regimen since. I felt great then and want to look and feel the best I ever have. I want to transform the fat I have to muscle while bettering my overall health.
Bodybuilding.com needs another catergory for members. It needs a Most Helpful Member section so new members and present members have some members DEDICATED to helping others without having to pay for it by going to another site besides this one. Instead of NO PAIN NO GAIN !!! It seems like...
Hey Carter, Thanks for the add and kind words! They are appreciated! I'm in the midst of packing to move out of state so I am kind of in limbo however I plan to hit the ground running when I get to Cleveland. You REALLY have done a great job!
Hey Carter - thanks for checking in on me. just what i need. The lifting is on track -- inconsitent diet is always my downfall.
Your recent torso shot rocks! The psyched/inspired expression in your eyes tells it all. Good for you.
things are going good. I have stayed under 230 for 3 days now, so that is an accomplishment. scared of the holidays but I will do it. I just want to keep losing. I have seen some new muscles develop and I am glad. so watch out for further developments.

Have a great Thanksgiving

I just stopped by to wish you nothing but success as you work towards your fitness goal. Too many people think it can’t be done and so they don't even try but you have proven that with hard work and dedication it can be. Keep up the great work. I look forward to watching your continuing progress. You are a great example to so many
others, especially me.
Great work, buddy. Abs showing at 45. Show-off! LOL Hope I can catch up to your progress. We older guys (yep, I'm a bit older than you, "kid") can do ANYTHING.
I hear ya on the Yanks...we'll get em next year right? Being a trainer huh? Well you definitely know what you are doing. I wish you the best with that.
