When I Started:
Mar, 2004
How I Started:
I started running after my mother in law ran in the LA Marathon. After completing marathon in 2003 I noticed I hadn't really lost any weight. I looked over this magazine that had a 4 month challenge (I got it late) but started the work out. After the 4 months, I had dropped 3-4 pant sizes and was fitting a size 10 which I hadn't seen since junior high school.
I then got pregnant in 2004 and again in 2006. So now I'm on the come back and want to get to the size 10 and maybe smaller.
Why I Love It:
Since I've started I feel so much better about myself and my accomplishments. It's amazing to watch your body transform and to see yourself get stronger day by day. I love the comments and attention I get from others who notice the weight loss or the muscle tone. Love It!
How I Stay Motivated:
Looking at magazines and other women who have achieved their goals.
This picture was taken when I decided that I was really going to get focused on getting the weight off (had 2 kids back to back). I was determined after I got my body fat measured at the gym (I almost fainted).
now it's time to focus on the abs and still loose the fat - here we go
IT'S ON!!!
The main goal is to get my body fat down. I have recently had children (yes back to backers) and my body fat is unacceptable. I want to get back to where I was before the children (was an acceptable weight and body fat %). However, I'm sure there is much more that I can do with my body.
In addition, I'm seeking to get stronger with my upper body. Specifically, I want to be able to do pull-ups without any assistance.
Do you tell your friends and/or family about your fitness goals?
No
Why or why not?
My family and friends really don't have the same drive as I do when it comes to fitness. Therefore, I don't tell them what I'm up to, I just let them see the results and then if they ask what I'm doing, that opens the door to share. A lot of my friends and family think that if you are not overweight, then you don't need to exercise. I wish I could show them how much their physique would improve with a simple routine and diet change. My family and friends really don't have the same drive as I do when it comes to fitness. What tips would you give to others to help them stay motivated over the long-term?
No sure, I'm working on this for myself right now.
Thanks for the encouragement. Comments like yours, keeps me going. I know you will achieve you goals as well. Just stick with it. Even on those day when you don't see any results. Remember, believing without seeing= faith and results.
