After a life threatening car accident as as teenager I was left with a few extra pounds (to say it nicely). I had no motivation to loose weight and really needed a goal to work toward...My friend Angie asked if I would like to participate in a photoshoot with her 3 months later, that was my motivation to get started.
My husband then created my training regemin and nutrition and 7 months later I began figure competing.
Why I Love It:
I love being center of attention for one. But more than anything I love the feeling of accomplishment and the sense pride that my husband feels in his success as my trainer.
How I Stay Motivated:
I live with my trainer/nutritionist, what can ya say?
BB Accomplishments:
First show was GNC Indiana I took third. The judges said my shoulders needed improvement so for three weeks we focused on shoulder exercises and my next competition, The MO State, I took first in my class. One week later I competed in The Caveman Classic and placed first in my class again.
I have had a great 2008 season...competiting in every National show available. I listened to judges and worked on each suggestion as best a possible...granted some shows couldve been better than others but oversll it was very good experiences. I learned something new about myself at each show, not to mention the wonderful women I met along the way...next year is gonna be great. I am just focusing on an enjoyable off season for now before getting back into the competitive season.

What is the one tip you would give somebody who is just getting started?
Preparation is the key to any success. Dieting is the hardest for someone on the run al the time so it is very important to plan out your meals and bring them with you.
