When I Started:
Jan, 2009
How I Started:
I first started working out in high school. I was a competitive cheerleader and gymnast. Working out was part of every practice. In the few years that have passed since high school I have gained weight and lost a healthy shape. I am headed back to the gym this year and I'm so excited!
Why I Love It:
I love working out because of the natural rush I feel while I'm doing it and afterwards. It's hard work but I'm excited to get started again this year and really transform my body.
How I Stay Motivated:
I placed a photo of myself from a trip to the beach when I was in amazing shape on the refrigerator door. It's a great way to stop yourself from reaching for the Edy's. I also reward myself for each mini-goal I reach so I don't get overwhelmed. I want to lose 30 lbs and that's pretty scary. So, for each 10 lbs or so I treat myself to a pedicure or new workout gear, etc.
I want to lose fat and gain serious muscle. My long-term goal is to compete in a fitness competition.
Goal (Long):
My current goal is to start working out regularly and eating correctly. I have decided to reward myself for each mini-goal I achieve. For example, hitting a certain weight goal = a pedicure. This way, my overall goal of losing 30 lbs. isn't so overwhelming. Once I achieve my weight loss and muscle gain, I would like to put my cheerleading and gymnastics experience to use and try a fitness competition. It's January now, and I can't wait to have a rockin' bod for bikini season!
