When I Started:
Jan, 2006
How I Started:
I started noticing most crane operators are Fat guys. I have have ALWAYS been stick thin. When I noticed a bit of a belly coming on from sitting on my rear all day, I decided it was time to start exercising. I thought hell maybe I could even gain a little muscle to get out of the stick category.
Why I Love It:
It keeps me fit. Tests my will power to keep motivated. Also helps self my esteem a bit to not be a TOTAL bean pole.
How I Stay Motivated:
Well being lazy is my nature. To stay motivated I make sure as soon as I get home from work I go straight to my basement to do my workout. If I don't I would veg out in a chair till I fell asleep and never get back up to do my routine. Not to mention all the out of shape guys at work.
BB Accomplishments:
When I started in 2006 I could barely get 135lbs. up one time. Sad but true. So for me flat benching 255lbs. In January this year was a REALLY great feeling.

Genetics SUCK! I eat between 3,500-4,000 calories a day and can,t gain anymore weight than the 25 pounds i gained since starting training. Not only because it is hard to eat so much "clean" food. The cost of eating like this is insane as well.
I am hoping now that my 2 sons are...
After 3 months off for shoulder and knee trouble I am now beginning Rippetoes starting strength program. I will start light and use his program to implement progression in increments to get my joints accustomed to the weights again.
First day is April 02, 2007.
Hey dude. I FINALLY put up a new picture. Check it out and tell me how ya think I've been doing so far. Not too much of an improvement but you can tell. After all, I hit a plateau for a while and I'm 6 ****in' foot 4. Haha.
Right you are, Al ... May was the pits for diet and strength training. I did do a lot of walking getting ready for my 1/2 marathon ... and I posted my best times yet. Today was the first day back in the gym in a long time. And no, I haven't stepped on the scale recently. :( It's going to be a long time before my back is as ripped and thick as yours.
I'd like to swap some 20 lbs of fat I am sure I still have right now for 20 lbs of muscle. 180lbs at 5'10" is a good height/weight combination if it's correctly composed.
That's really the secret...that's the ONLY thing I changed and the results have been phenomenal! You've got a great back! I want definition in my back..hopefully one day...
