Lose weight, build muscle. All while working around Coumadin therapy for multiple DVTS in legs and Pulmonary Embolism in lungs.
Goal (Long):
I am trying to overcome a serious health set back to my weight loss and muscle building overall body transformation. I am still determined to go forward and find those ABS I've always wanted and and build these muscles I know I have. Trying to stay positive and motivated around obstacles of Coumadin therapy for life. Issues with vein damage to right leg. Want to be better informed and educated on eating, supplementation, work outs that will NOT cause a reaction with my medicine. Interested in changing my lifestyle and becoming healthier and happier.
Pt 2!! I'm off Coumadin at least for now but I quit all supplements while I was taking it.A protein powder shouldn't affect it but definitely check your INR on a regular basis if you do take anything!! Good luck to you and I'll keep in touch!
Wow, Karen, that's tough. I'm in the same boat. My clot ran from my ankle to my hip completely occluded. I also have permanent damage but there is hope! The surgery is a vein bypass where they use a healthy vein and graft it on to the most damaged area. Only one doc in the US does it @Mayo Clinic. I went for a consult but my leg was too damaged at the time to operate. I go again soon.
Hi Karen, how are you? I'm still dealing with residual scar tissue from my DVT. I'm supposed to go this fall to have a vein by-pass surgery on my right leg. It was originally scheduled for ay but doc said my leg was still too damaged!! Off of the Coumadin (for now)but we'll see after the op! Do you have any restrictions at this time?
Thank you much for the add and you're kind words! I appreciate the support and want you to know I'm hear anytime you need anything at all! I really admire the fact that you are sticking with it even when life has given you many obstacles to overcome. You are a true solider and I know you will get there! :)
