When I Started:
How I Started:
I had always been an athlete since a very young age. I played soccer year-round until about age 20 and was in very good shape cardiovascular wise. When I went into college I stopped playing soccer and then realized I wanted to get bigger and stronger. Had an accident when I was 20 my freshmen year of college and started to lifted to regain some strength and weight. What started out as rehabilitation turned into a favorite hobby of mine.
Why I Love It:
I love it because no matter what else is going on in your life, you can put it all aside and take it out on the weights. It relieves stress, gives you confidence, and overall has turned me into a much healthier person. I love the results I get and I love how it has become a sort of game where I can continually challenge myself to different goals. I love how there really is no one else to blame for not achieving something other than yourself.
How I Stay Motivated:
Seeing other people in the gym, looking in the mirror or in pictures, and the things people say to me.
Well I just finished up classes at THE Ohio State University :) for spring quarter and am starting summer classes soon. My training has pretty much come to a halt. Along with this injured thumb, which seems to be a perpetual injury, I smashed my ankle by dropping two heavy tables on it...
Sorry to hear about your injuries. Smart to let yourself heal up, although i know how frustrating it must be. But you're in it for the long haul, and you'll be pounding the weights again soon.
