I've got a triathlon August 23. Need to cut fat and stabilize my core and joints to be competitive.
Goal (Long):
I'm in the process of transforming my body and releasing the monster inside me. My end target is 10% bf around 175 lbs so I can get back into endurance/adventure racing. Bulging and rippling isn't necessary, but I'm dedicated to being in the kind of life-long shape that will keep me fit and young until I'm 90.
It's been a year-ish since I started working on my transformation, and I've found that committing to a sport has really helped aerobically. College put some weight back on, but it's time to cut down again and start moving back toward my goals.
What is the one tip you would give somebody who is just getting started?
Find a goal person (similar bone/body structure with a physique you desire to match) and ask as many questions as they'll let you ask. What mistakes did you make when you first started working out?
Being too shy to ask questions, not making a plan/schedule, over/underworking muscle groups and almost injuring support muscles.
