Background

When I Started: Aug 2008
HOW I STARTED:

Two years ago I walked in to the new gym in town just to check it out; had no interest in lifting, as I was busy with tennis and mountain biking. The manager told me to come in and work out any time, and then come and see him in a month or so to join up - the rest is history.

WHY I LOVE IT:

It completely focuses my life; it gives me energy, drive, motivation, and increases my performance in everything I do.

Pushing Through

I have never been an endurance athlete.  Weight training has been ideal for me because the mode of short bursts of focused power just seem to work for me.  When I started training in swim/bike/run, the need to exert and persevere over a fairly long period of time (from what I was used to, not compared to real endurance athletes) was shocking.  I thought I was in good shape, and it was a rude awakening to be put in a position of "I can NOT #$@*ing get through this."  I consider myself fairly mentally tough, and even still it's been a continual battle to push forwar...

Smoothie Recipe

Best smoothie recipe of all time (and it's yours free!!). Into blender: 1 peeled banana 2 tablespoon scoops plain yogurt 1 cup frozen blackberries 12oz skim milk Add two scoops of chocolate protein powder (whey) while blending on low, until well mixed (but not fluffy). Drink straight from blender!

Just wanted to take a minute to give thanks to the great people that created and run the bodybuilding.com site.  For years and years I have used the site's supplement store, and always been so happy with the service and prices.  More recently I have become active on the bodyspace side of the site, and have been really impressed with the sites design and capabilities.  Even more though, I have been pleasantly surprised by how awesome the site members are.  Sure there are some rotten apples in every barrel of fruit, but by and large the folks on this site have been really gre...
