Cuyamaca College Attended 2007 to Present El Cajon, California United States
High School:
Monte Vista High Attended 1998 to 2002 Spring Valley, California United States
When I Started:
Sep, 2009
How I Started:
Since high school, I've had a few stints where I started working out for a month or two. Eventually I'd became too busy or preoccupied to continue though. I decided it was time to commit to it this time around by making weight lifting a part of my daily routine.
Why I Love It:
It's personally satisfying to push myself physically and mentally. Also, I feel great, and I have more confidence after every work out.
How I Stay Motivated:
The first thing that comes to mind regarding what keeps me motivated at the moment are the results I've seen from working out. It's difficult being gluten and lactose intolerant which basically forces me to follow a paleo diet while trying to bulk up. I'm eating like a monster though: 6 meals a day (200g fat, 170g protein, 50g carbs [90g loading on weekends], & overall about 3500-3700 calories daily). If anyone has advice on my ratios, feel free to give me your input.
BB Accomplishments:
none.... yet! in due time though.

135 lbs First day of lifting. Waiting to start P90X program on Sept. 29th.
144-145lbs - Modified P90X workouts to maximize gained muscle mass. Removed cardio and plyometrics from the regimen, and added additional leg/back days since my legs are the weakest part of my body at the moment.
I want to gain 20 lbs of muscle by New Year's, and 40 lbs of muscle by Summer 2010.
Goal (Long):
I allowed myself to become physically weak and pathetic over the past 8 years, and I'm determined to gain 20 lbs of muscle or more by the end of this year. This is just the beginning though; I started around 135 lbs 2 weeks ago, I'm 142 lbs now, and I'm hoping to be 170+ lbs by next summer. I've done it once before, and I'm hoping to reclaim and surpass the physique I had during high school.
Weight Goal:
I want to GAIN 40 lb

What is the most dangerous weightlifting exercise? Why?
Any exercise that leads to accidentally dropping a weight on your head. Thankfully, I haven't experienced that yet, but I've seen it happen, and the result wasn't pretty... fun to watch though.

What should look for in a gym? What should you avoid?
24 hour availability. It's nice being able to do those late night workouts when you can't sleep. Avoid places that don't seem to clean or provide adequate equipment.

What type of person at your gym annoys you the most? Why?
the people whose priority seems to be hitting on or showing off for the opposite sex. It's too distracting.
If you're looking to get some mass... I recommend doing a dynamic warm up before your workout and go heavy 4-8 reps... I try to just hit 5 with every compound movement and squeeze then isolation exercises real heavy as well 6-12 reps... I didn't start really adding mass until I started eating a lot and training smart/heavy. I'm tippin the scales at 172 right now trying to get to 180 before I start my cut to about %4 bf. I'm sitting at about %9 right now.
Ahh thanks for checking in! I know that feeling, at this stage your life revolves around your next meal doesn't it, it's like a chore to eat when you aren't hungry! BUT, we have to plough through and know it's for the greater good :)
eah I've still been training, I've just been a bit too busy to update! in the absence of my protein I ate more tuna, chicken, eggs and cottage cheese, which meant I took on a couple of hundred more calories, I just made sure I burned the extra with cardio. Thanks for asking :) How's it going for you?
Hiya,
Thanks for your message. That's the thing- I ordered my Reflex whey over a week ago, they said it would be delivered thenext day and it still isn't here- therefore it's MIA, and I'm now fully out of protein shake!
The only N.O. that didn't break out my face was Controlled Labs - White Flood. Nano Vapor was really inconsistent, but when it worked it was good other than the skin breaking your skin out as well. Yeah Cell Mass never broke my face out either. Just watch what you take cause it can totally blow up on your face.
Seriously if you plan your diet out before you train everyday, you'll see the biggest gains. I've gained 20 lbs in the past year with no added body fat.
