How I Started:
Short: I looked in the mirror.
Long: Was really fat in 8th grade (around 190 lbs. @ 5'2") and tired of being made fun of. Joined South Shore Fitness in Ocean City, NJ. Lost a lot of weight.
Was active in sports in high school and kept "skinny". (9th grade = CrossCountry & Track; 10th & 11th = biking & swimming; 12th = wrestling)
Didn't work out for the first 3yrs of college and gained some fat. Then, during the 2nd semester of my senior year, I began getting in shape for my wedding which was in May.
Stopped working out after wedding and gained 71 lbs. of fat during my first year of grad school. Could barely get up the stairs of my third-story apartment and was actually labeled "obese"! Looked in mirror and decided a change was needed.
"Ran" for one full month (June, 2008) and then began working out in July (2008) through the end of August. Lost 20 lbs. but then stopped b/c I moved to PA and new job, house, etc.
Started working out again in early June (2009). Have lost another 20 lbs since then. Not yet back at pre-wedding shape, but close.
Why I Love It:
I love feeling that pump you get when working out... but def not as good as cumming. Sorry Arnold.

How I Stay Motivated:
The mirrors above the bed help, but I would say the flirting with many different women is the main motivator.

ummm, none. I've only been working out for less than 3 months!

On my wedding day (05/2007) I weighed 173 lbs. On my one year anniversary, I weighed 244 lbs. That's 71 pounds! This is the result of eating very poorly, rarely sleeping and constantly stressing; i.e. working a full time job while also attending a top three graduate program.
Anyhoo, I have since decided to give back my mind the body it deserves. I believe the two should compliment each other and so that is why I want to look like Frank Zane.
I've found that 10-12 reps usually work the best for me, but I still throw in a day or two every month when I go for only 6-8 reps per set.

How long do you rest between sets on average? Why?
I really like to push myself and almost never go over a minute-and-a-half. But, on average, I'd say about a minute per each set.

What do you do before your workout to get motivated and energized?
Music is huge in getting me pumped, but there are some days when any song won't do, and that's why I love N.O. Explode. I decided to try something new (NaNo Vapor), but it doesn't even come close to comparing to N.O. Explode. That Gaspari stuff looks good too, but I'm not sure if it's worth the gamble when I already know that BSN's N.O. Thank you! I've been working my ass off-my peers are shocked that I'm in "off season" but still stick w/the diet, etc. Have a blast on your vaca-let me know when you post the pics :)
LOL yep, didn't know there was a Destin in OH! It was great ... I meet up with a few of my girlfriends from back home there once a year. We pretty much relax on the beach and enjoy the spas! From the looks of it, yours was pretty relaxing too? lol

u asked of cardio, i honestly dont do any, my workouts are so fast and the reps are so high, that cardio does nothing but burn my muscle..

Well I have tried a ton of N.O. Products. I have always liked N.O. explode but now it makes me have to use the restroom when I use it. I'm currently using naNOx9 Made by Muscletech. It seems to work pretty good. I always take 1 200 mg Caffine pill with it also.... then I'm jacked for awhile! Keep on Keepin!
