Background
I was in a bad car accident in high school 2 weeks into football season, I broke my back, and was unable to play any sports my senior year. When I got out of bed rest, I wieghed 130 lbs. I wore a back brace for another 2 months and under went surgery. The first thing I was able to do was bench press months later. It was hard watching all my friends playing without me and lifting wieghts was a way to relieve some stress and not feel completely helpless. By graduation I was fully recovered and wieghed 165, high in body fat and low in muscle. End of my freshman year in college I was 185 and saturated with alcohol. I saw a guy in the gym that I wanted to be like and started asking questions. I got on his program and I have been hitting it hard ever since. Since 2005, by the grace of God, I have not had any drugs or alcohol, besides caffiene, and since 2008 I have been hitting the gym solid. Beginning of 2009, I have not missed a day of the 4 day program. I accepted that God could do for me what I could not do for myself, living one day at a time, living and loving life. I am in the process of stating my own fitness company, and I cannot wait to see what the future holds.
I love working out because of the health benefits, I feel great. I also love seeing the transformation I have seen ever since I got serious. Helping others, and watching them achieve there goals and seeing them realize, WOW, it does work. I love giving the gift of knowledge that was so freely given to me. If that guy wasnt there for me, I would not be where I am today, and I know that.

bookerbrother created a new BodyBlog entry "Wiithin Us".
There is no human power that can tell us what we are, or define us as a human being. We all have a calling that involves us overcoming fears and walking out on our own, relying on Him to lead us. My past is there and will not change, therefore I choose to not regret it, but learn from it, We are all made differently, but I believe we all have a calling, but many will take that calling to the grave because of the lack of faith, belief, and amount of fear that can paralyze you....
