When I Started:
Aug, 2007
How I Started:
During the summer of 2007 we went camping with the whole family. My last straw was when I had to wear shorts and a long t-shirt for a swimsuit. I was so embarrassed being so big and sluggish. I didn't even go summing very much and I love too. Keeping up with my family and grandkids wasn't easy and I was always feeling tired... I said to myself "This just can not be me?, I love summer and here I am doing nothing!" Since that day I have decided to improve myself for the better. "Mom" still has what it takes to be fit & beautiful!! Oh, yeah... I'm also a Grandma!!!
Why I Love It:
Working out gives me energy and I feel so much better as each day goes by. Even though my results are slow, I can see the difference I am making on my body. It feel wonderful knowing that I can do men push-ups instead of the girlie ones, LOL.. Besides now, I can wear a CUTE! bathing suit "Hubby likes that one" ;-)
How I Stay Motivated:
Staying motivated can be hard at times, but I challenge myself at each workout by telling myself "GIVE IT ONE MORE PUSH!" "NEVER SAY>>>GIVE-UP"
But my biggest motivation is my loving husband. Watching him workout and seen the changes in his body.... well let's just say it's hard to keep my hands of him ;-) You can check out his bodybuilding page at FLEETTECHROB)
BB Accomplishments:
So far... loosing 41 pounds!!
doing 12 men push-ups
sticking with a healthy plan
and ALWAYS being THANKFUL!

Goal (Long):
I started at the weight of 215 pounds and a size 16...which could have been larger, but I just wasn't going to buy a bigger pair of jeans...NO WAY!!
One day my employer offered to pay for us employees a membership at the gym, I thought sure why not, it's saving money. I started working out in 2007 and started to loose weight. Now, after about 2 years I lost a total of 52 lbs !!! Now, I'm down to 163 lbs and into size 12 jeans, but......I'm not stopping there.
In May of 2009 my hubby and I attended this Chico Ca. bodybuilding contest to support our friend who was competing and won the Women's bodybuilding class. I thought why can't I do this? so since then I have been trying to build up my muscles and loose more body fat. I want to the next Chico Ca. Competition in 2010. Wish me luck and I'll keep you informed as I improve.
Weight Goal:

So far I would say the plank is pretty good getting those abs into shape along with crunches on a ball with weights.

How has bodybuilding and fitness helped you in your career?
I work as a Vet Tech at a busy animal hospital and lifting animals is a big part of the job. Being fit and keeping up with my weight lifting has helped me improve my abs and back muscles saving my back from injury. Also staying healthy I don't miss days off work for being sick and the boss likes that one LOL...I work as a Vet Tech at a busy animal hospital and lifting animals is a big part of the job.
