I used to be fit when I was younger and I lifted off an on throughout highschool. Then I seriously got started when I hit about 230 lbs. and realized I was obese. It was funny but I didnt really even notice because the change was so gradual. I decided it was time to start eating better and exercising if I wanted to live past thirty.
Why I Love It:
I love working out because of how it makes me feel and all of the other benefits, improved sleep, better state of mind, increased energy, and looking better. Its amazing how you can be having a bad day or just feel tired and run down and then you can go lift and you feel like a million bucks!!!
How I Stay Motivated:
I stay motivated by using this website and by seeing the small changes in myself. I look at all the inspiring profiles on here and it makes it easy to stay on track. I want what so many others on this site have!!! I also will bet money that I can't afford to lose so that I can meet certain fitness goals when my motivation is low.
BB Accomplishments:
Losing 60lbs is major accomplishment in my book thats a good size kid taken off of my body!

blaine5changed Weight from 178 lbs. to 178 lbs., no change in the past 1 day
This is at 173lbs. 12.5%bodyfat! In some of these pics I am starting to get a little four pack. Lower abs are still flabby as hell and I went with the serial killer look to spice things up!
What is your favorite cardiovascular exercise? Why?
I try to do interval sprints as opposed to low intensity cardio. I think a lot of the long term low intensity cardio is counter productive to building muscle mass.
Not impressive to most, but my bench has hit an all time high of 235lbs! I think I am in love with powerlifting. I have only been powerlifting for the last two weeks and my strength just keeps increasing....I am sure it will hit a wall pretty soon, but for now the gains are amazing. ...
I finally found solid ground again, lol. Still need to get in a workout today(somewhere around 4ish) My hats off to you on the bulking up, I don't think I could do it, I tried a cycle type of diet a few years back and it screwed me up bad, so now I usually keep it pretty well reigned in, there will be a day & time where I can allow myself to indugle slightly, it's just not now. Hang in there, you look awesome an just think how much more so when you get to shred what you just built up.
Yep, BSing ourselves doesn't advance us at all. It's like faking out a weigh-in one week right after a meal, just to show a great "weight loss" next week without eating beforehand. Or tricking ourselves on how much weight we are lifting, etc.
Heh. I use a chest strap heart rate monitor connected to my watch. Since the companies allow for up to 15% (yes 15%!!) variance, I always lower the amount it calculates by 15%.
Because I started slim, I haven't really changed. I have gained a little weight, but that's half fat because I've been eating more, too much. You've really slimmed down since 2005 and have some muscle mass already. I'm hoping the dino program will add some strength. Your powerlifting program is working for you. Keep up the good work.
Actually, I've been regular lifting for nearly a year without much progress. Wondering what a dinosaur / power lifting program might do. Sounds like it's working well for you. Hope you have continued progress.
First week in am I am feelin great a little sore but still great! Thanks for asking. I will be updating every week and I hope you do the same! I will be checking in on you. Take care and keep the excitemnet high.
Wow, 800 in an hour is some hardcore cardio. You've got to be doing some serious HIIT to reach that. I'm lucky to pass 650 kC in an hour even with HIIT on the elliptical.
