When I Started:
2000
How I Started:
I started lifting just after my junior year of high school basketball. I was about 6'4" and weighed only 175 pounds. I knew I needed to put on some size to play at a higher level. So I started a basic full body workout, but my legs have always been a lot bigger than my upper body. So by that summer I had already changed my lifting into upper and lower body days, and had adjusted my upper body workouts and started eating a ton of protein to help add size. By the beginning of the basketball season my senior year I was 6'6" and weighed in at 200 pounds, this was only about a 6 month span of time and seeing this kind of results had me hooked.
Why I Love It:
I first started to love lifting because I love the way you can workout and change the look and feel of your body.
How I Stay Motivated:
Thats the thing I havent been able to stay motivated, that is way I am on this site. I hope seeing everyone elses progress and posting on here will get me in gym and to stay in the gym.

THAT WHICH DOES NOT KILL YOU, ONLY MAKES YOU STRONGER.
I want to get back into shape so I can show some of the younger guys who play in my basketball league that I can still dunk with style and excitement.
Goal (Long):
I weigh about 250 pounds and this is the heaviest I have ever weighed. I feel very good at about 220 or 225 pounds, I feel this is a better weight for my body to handle. Since I play basketball in a league once a week I would like to get down into a better playing shape. I would love to have a body like the Chicago Bulls center Ben Wallace. There was a time right after high school when I was 225 pounds and cut, I loved how I looked then, and that's where I would like to get back to. I know that if I can get good advice off this site and keep motivated, these goals will be accomplished.
I lift at a old dungeon like gym that is dirty and the equipment is old, but there is everything that you need to workout with except cardio. It was a hardcore, heavy lifting gym when I was little and now the owner is dead but his widow still keeps it open. So I was quite surprised to find...
Hey buddy, thanks for checking out my blog. I responded on there but in case you don't read it I wanted to message you also. As you already know the forums probably aren't the best place for advice. PM the people on here that seem willing to help. If there is anything I can help with just ask and I will try to answer to the best of my abilities.
