"In September of 2006 my bodybuilding dreams were stopped as i was rushed in to have an emergency lower back lamenectomy w/ a miscrodiscectomy as i had 3 herniated discs that were cutting off my nerves down my leg. At that point i thought it was all "
I was a hefty 260lbs in high school and started working out, supplementing, and eating better and it became an addiction.
Why I Love It:
Because its a sport that not everyone can do. Only an select few individuals can do what it takes to diet 4-6 months and put aside your personal life to attain a goal that only 1% of people in the world can do.
How I Stay Motivated:
I have had 2 lower back surgeries. My motivation is that i don't ever want to be in a wheel chair. I stay motivated by seeing changes in the mirror weekly as well as by seeing others that i am helping train for a show look better and better by the day.

This was a photo in the first month of my diet back in Nov 2005
9 weeks back into bodybuilding after a 6 month layoff due to back surgery
In September of 2006 my bodybuilding dreams were stopped as i was rushed in to have an emergency lower back lamenectomy w/ a miscrodiscectomy as i had 3 herniated discs that were cutting off my nerves down my leg. At that point i thought it was all
Goal (Long):
When i got hurt i was 245lbs and 8% bodyfat. I was 3 weeks into training for a show and was sure that i would win the whole thing. I got hurt and i thought it was all over. Lying in a hospital bed and not knowing if you'll ever be the same is a traumatic experience. I never thought i'd return. I lose 30lbs in 3 days in the hospital and walked out a new person. A funny thing happens when you are lying there thinking about your future. I took off 5 months from training not thinking i'd ever get back into it. After helping others with shows and moving back to my hometown to train w/ my long time best friend, workout partner, and fellow bodybuilder Bob Widman, i decided i'd give another go. No i can't train like i used to, but with my knowledge i made it a challenge to myself to see what i could do w/ a new scheme of weights and diet. My goal is to again compete in April of 2008 and hopefully at a weight of 210 or more. Watch it happen!
Well where do i begin. This last year of my life has gone from the lowest lows to the highest highs and back.
I might as well begin back in May of 2005. I was living in Milwaukee, fresh out of college working as a programmer. It was a well paying job, but not what i wanted to do the rest of...
Glad for you, man, that you have put the trouble behind and are back to the gym. I have at least another couple of weeks until I can go back, following major surgery. It does suck.
