Overall Goal: With my shoulder injury I plan to continue rehabbing it as well as work on my diet and conditioning. So, I guess I am cutting weight.

How I Started:
I got involved in martial arts at the age of 13. Weight training was always a part of my routine but I never really took it seriously until I stopped competing in 2001.
Why I Love It:
I love pushing myself, setting goals, and reaching them!
How I Stay Motivated:
Once I reach a goal I find a new one. I guess it's my competitive nature that keeps me motivated.
BB Accomplishments:
When I started lifting seriously back in 2001 I weighed 245lbs. Now some 6 years later I am just over 300lbs. My goal is 320lbs!

Pain is an unavoidable reality of weight training and of life. Don't run away. Instead, face and embrace it. The key to success is to learn how to accept the pain and grow from it.

43 years of age (now 44) 6'6" 300 lbs at the time of the attached picture. I was in the process of cutting for my trip to Mexico (wanted to look good on the beach).
Now, I am in the process of bulking up but don't want to experience the "cutting phase" that I went through previously. ...

Goal (Long):
I plan on avoiding surgery for as long as possible as I attempt to rehab my shoulder on my own. And, in the process (since I cannot lift heavy for the time being), I will work on my diet and attempt to cut weight (new goal weight of 275lbs).
We've all seen them, those infamous infomercials on P90X. Well, I decided to give it a try. I mean, why not? I really can’t lift right now due to all my injuries and I want to stay active and the guy hocking the product is my age and he looks amazing. Besides, who wouldn’t want to...
Currently I am hitting the gym 5 to 6 times a week. Usually each workout begins w/ 15 - 30 minutes of cardio to help me break a good sweat and get in a good warm up before I start lifting.
Each day I do a compound movement and then concentrate on one body part trying to get in 4 to 5...
Hey man, how's the shoulder? I've got a couple protruding disks in the base of my neck that are putting pressure on my spinal chord. It's stopping me from doing quite a bit of normal activity, not to mention the workouts, plus the pain doesn't go away, even with Rx pain killers. I tell you what though, I'll be ready for a workout with you when I'm better!:) How is everything with you?
Let me know how that goes. I am always skeptical of infomercial stuff when it comes to working out. The rest did do it goo for my shoulder. I think it is just joint pain so i started back on the joint complex i took before today. Good luck on the p90x
How is your shoulder treating you. Mine was bothering me but just the joint. I took a few weeks off and am hitting it hard again. Hope all is going better for you.
I'm usually an afternoon guy. I try to go before the rush. I was looking at going around 3, today. Tonight is no good. Booo. I can go at night sometime next week. Would be cool to see you in person -- I'm sure I'd look like Mini-me standing next to you. LOL.
Hey man -- I thought I responded to your last comment, but it looks like it never went through. Oops. Thanks for the kind words about my back. I totally understand the diet issue -- mine is getting better. :) I go to the Hulen or the Western Center 24 usually. What about you?
