When I Started:
Feb, 2006
How I Started:
I decided it was time to make a change in my life. I was always skinny & not very athletic growing up. When I graduated high school, I weighed somewhere aroud 130 lbs. at 5'9". I eventually got up to about 135. A few years ago, I lost a lot of weight due to some extra-curricular activities... I'm not sure what my lowest weight was, but I'm sure it was below 115 lbs. After turning some things around & getting rid of one particularly powerful addiction, I started gaining weight again -- simply from eating regularly. It was then that I joined the gym. Worked with a personal trainer for the first couple of months to get a basic understanding of equipment and exercise. Fell in love with lifting! Plan on doing it as long as I'm physically able!
Why I Love It:
Bodybuilding is an outlet for me -- I get to watch my body change & grow while relieving stress. I feel better & look better!
How I Stay Motivated:
Watching someone make a change for the good in their life motivates me to continue! It reminds me of why I started in the first place. Seeing progress is a huge motivator. People on bb.com and work out buds can be great motivation.
BB Accomplishments:
Going from 140lbs and 14%bf to 155lbs and 8%bf in a year... I think that should count. :)
To bulk up as much as possible through the fall and winter.
Goal (Long):
I need to see results. I'm pushing myself to see change. I'm eating better and eating more. I'm lifting heavier, never missing a day at the gym, and getting good rest. My goal is to gain some solid muscle, naturally. Generally speaking, I don't want to be big. However, relatively speaking, I want to be big for me -- I don't know how much I need to gain, but I know how I want to look. I'm thinking I need to gain about 20 lbs to see what I'm looking for. I'M READY TO GROW!
This guy is one of the most good hearted people I know -- honest & hard working! He's always able to give sound advice and is steadily working towards his own goals. Plus, pimpin' ain't easy!
Whether he's talking smack or just shooting the breeze, I can always count on Jay for inspiration! This dude is not a slacker & he is quick to let you know that he doesn't support slacking! LOL. Keeps me on my toes!
So my goal for the past 4 months or so has been to gain 15 lbs of lean muscle and get down to 8% body fat. My body fat has been listed as 12% because that's what it was last time I checked, but it's been quite a while since then. I recently purchased bf callipers (?) with a built in...
hey man! everything's going pretty well over here - i've been focusing on making clean gains and it's paying off (lots of pre-lift cardio lately). how has training been going for you?
I tried ezbar curls today and...fail. I'm still not there yet. What's weird is that I can get away with rope curls and the preacher machine. I still think I'll be back in business in Jan.
Why was I under the impression that you had everything bought and wrapped by Thanksgiving. haha But yeah it's MADNESS out there! And I have to go out there....again! HELP!
thanks man i appreciate it...winter months get tough i can see the work ur doing is paying off as well...wat kinda food you eat when you starting to cut up your body?
That must be a dream job man! I am happy for you! Good luck with your Christmas shows! And keep up the great work on your physique! God bless you brother!
You have shown the drive and determination needed to build a great physique and for that I congratulate you. You are proof that if you always challenge yourself to do the best that you can do the results will be well worth it.
Remember: "You can be as great as you want to be. If you believe in yourself and have the courage, determination and drive and are willing to pay the price, you will do it!"
Overall I'm pleased with how it's going. I just had a solid back workout (with pullups!). I aborted the dumbbell shoulder presses cause I could feel those a little. I'm going to try curling with the ez-bar on Monday.
everything's GROOVY dude! Just trying to get all my shopping in by this weekend. I hate going to the Mall. Perhaps I'll finish it off with gift cards. Let'em buy whatever the hell they want. Hey that's not very thoughtful or creative but it gets the job done right! haha How 'bout you, are you done spending your hard earned loot?
