Overall Goal: I'd love to keep up with both my studies and health goals. Looking to trim down a few more body fat percentage points in order to tone my abs. Also would like to increase endurance through running - goal of 5K in 25 minutes!
Fit Status:
Just ran.. a little hard but pushed through it :)
During my Master's program, I spent a lot of time sitting, studying, and eating! Though I was never overweight, I became the epitome of "skinny fat" -- I looked fine normally, but I was not in shape by any means. After looking at progress pictures on this site, I was motivated into going to the weight room! I've been lifting for almost a year now and I love it.
Why I Love It:
I never thought I would go into the weight room, but now I love lifting! There is something empowering and addictive about being able to lift more and more weight -- I love pushing myself both mentally and physically.
How I Stay Motivated:
I feel that as a future physician, I should take care of not only my patients but myself! Also strange as it sounds, seeing the amount of adipose tissue in my anatomy group's cadaver has really motivated me to hit the gym and eat clean. Dead or alive, I don't want three inches of fat under my skin..
BB Accomplishments:
Going into and staying in the weight room, cutting back drastically on alcohol consumption, eating clean foods and loving it!
My 5K training log (treadmill times; outdoor races not listed):
Aug 22 - 34:00
Aug 25 - 32:30
Sept 1 - 30:20
Sept 8 - 30:18 (had to sprint the last couple minutes to beat last week's time..)
Sept 25 - 29:50
Sept 29 - 30:30 (not happy with this increase in time.. AM runs without breakfast take a lot out of me)
Oct 1 - 28:55
No new updates for a while.. since I've been running OUTSIDE! :)
Taken a year ago. I still wasn't a hardcore gym-goer, but my undergrad lifestyle was definitely more active than my life as a graduate student. It definitely shows!

Very very impressive keeping up with Med School is inredibly challenging on its own. But you are pushing yourself physically too and not just getting fit but excelling!
You look great! Keep up the good work. It's hard to eat clean with the busy lives all of us lead. (Especially in school.) Keep at it and it will become part of your life. I'm proud of myself when I pick healthy choices to eat when my friends eat junk....because that's hard to do. I'm rooting for you! It is nice to have other itty bitty people to talk to! LOL! What are you studying in school?
Hey thanx 4 accepting me az a friend! Its really appreciated! Im not sure if I left a comment or or not so to be on the safe side Ill leave this one,LOL. Make a great day-Matt
