When I Started:
How I Started:
I started lifting weights in University and played sports throughout school. I started training for fitness competitions in 2009 after being inspired by my trainer. Working out has been a great boast to my self confidence and made me start to focus on living a healthy lifestyle rather than try to be thin to fit into an unrealistic ideal.
Why I Love It:
Its a great feeling to see how you progress and gain strength. Above all I love the supportive network of friends who I have met through the bootcamp I attend and through my fitness competition training. Each of these individuals inspire me and its great to be around people who share similar aspirations to lead a healthy lifestyle.
How I Stay Motivated:
I have an amazing trainer and support group that I work out with on a regular basis. They inspire me with their hard work and positive comments on my performance. We all support each other in our fitness goals which has been invaluable in staying on track.

This was taken in May 2009 three months out from my first competition. I have a very lean physique so building muscle has been challenging
This was taken the day of my first competition. I'm still trying to build size on my biceps as its been a tough spot for me but I'm happy with how my abs have been progressing
Lyzabeth is my personal trainer and my fitness mentor. She inspires me everyday by her work ethic and passion for helping all of her clients meet their goals. She has given me new confidence in myself and because of her guidance I am excited to continue creating and meeting new fitness goals
Laura has an impressive resume! She has an informative blog, frequently competes and has a doctorate. Her busy schedule and dedication to fitness motivates me and shows me that its possible to successfully juggle both my professional and fitness goals
What mistakes did you make when you first started working out?
Not taking the time to understand the importance of nutrition. Lifting weights and cardio is only part of the journey to losing weight or gaining muscle. What you eat is the most important!

Okay, thank you for the information. I have checked out their website before and they make great suits. I guess if I want to ge my pro card I am going to have to step it up a notch and also pay the price for a great suit! :)
