When I Started:
Jun, 2006
How I Started:
Well sports has always been a desire and enjoyment for me in life. But my weight had always hindered my performance. I would say my mentality was a 10/10, but my physical fitness overall was a 5/10. multiplied together, a wopping 50/100. That was partially a reason. The other reason that I started is because I had to take a personal fitness class in replace of PE, because I was taking Post Secondary Option at OCU. Ever since I saw the results from bodybuilding, I've become stuck to it.
Why I Love It:
I love Bodybuilding because I'm just drawn to achieving the most that I can, in everything that I do. I love the adrenaline, and the stress relieving abilities it gives me. The health benefactors that come with it. As well as, it allows me to meet new people who are interested and understand why it's so enjoyable to do it. Which allows me to meet new friends, become able to discuss new ideas about how to do something. Talk about acheivements, and encourage one another. It's simply a great activity, in many different ways!
How I Stay Motivated:
I stay motivated by pushing my self to the (safe) limit. I'm encouraged all the time by my college friends. About how I don't look like I'm really just a high school student. I just graduated this past may, of 2009. They all the time say that I look like I'm juicing it up. Although, I wish they would slow down on the compliments, because I try really hard to be humble, I am full-heartedly thankful for their support and compliments.
And also, there are history of heart disease, diabetes, and other illnesses in the family. So, I am most-definitely motivated to body build to obtain a healthy life. Praise God he has gave me one!
And I apsolutely love it!
I would like to increase my muscle mass, by heavy weight training. So that I can obtain strenght, endurance, and tone. Which in turn I would like to decrease my fat percentage to no more than 10%. Sustain my current 2.5 miles of running without stopping, and possibly increase it further.
Well this time around for me its working with Dave Vignasse from www.davevignasse.com but first you have to really decide this is it!! They say it takes 21 days to develop a habbit, but it takes about 1.5 seconds to say "OK THIS IS IT!!!" This is your time to do that my friend.
Hey young man, ditto what Chad said, you can do it, but you just need to put it in perspective, sometimes we over analyze this stuff to much. It's just one facet of life, sounds like you already know that. Best to you.
Don't get discouraged man, it takes time. I've been at this for 24 years now. I've learned alot along the way and have made lots of mistakes. I felt just like you did in my younger years. It took me a long time to figure out how to make my body respond the best through trial and error.
