Overall Goal: My racing season is over, took some time off to heal up as needed so now it's time to work on building more strength on the off-season. I'm hitting Starting Strength again for a refresher course then will start advancing to come out next spring stro
Fit Status:

To better my athletic perfomance in high school sports - especially volleyball which our girls team took State 2 years in a row in.
Why I Love It:
The feeling of strength and empowerment a great workout gives me. It is also my way to reduce stress and something I can share with my kids who now workout with me.
How I Stay Motivated:
Looking at pictures from my dirtbike races & rides. I want to stay strong so I can continue to ride with my kids for years to come. Also my 11 yo daughter has informed me she WILL play college volleyball like I did AND she will break my 400 meter record I set at High School in 1981. I hope she does both!
BB Accomplishments:
No bb accomplishments but I did tie the record for most laps by a woman in the spring harescramble. I was the first woman to ever finish the full 5 laps in the infamous MuddyButt Harescramble (my cousins all Pro riders only put in 7 laps each). I finished midpack in the Women's C Class (22nd out of 38) at the big Washougal Ametuer Days with one crash and one oops (left my gas off).
Took a 3rd out of 12 and a 2nd out of 12 in the Women's class as a local Arenacross.
I learned how to clear a few big tabletops and some doubles on my 125.
More to come!

Goal (Long):
I've lifted weights and trained for 28 of my 43 years of life originally for HS sports, volleyball & track (basketball was training for track). I got involved in dirbikes 8 years ago when my son got his first motorcycle at age 4 1/2, I was 35 years old then. I started to ride with him then my daughter got her first bike 2 years later at age 5 and my son begged me to let them race motocross. Both kids raced for a couple seasons doing very well but I was bored being pit mom so I started to race with them. What a trip! You say you are just there to have fun, then they signal the 30 second board, you rev the bike, the gate drops and all that nonsense is GONE! You ain't passin me honey - bbbrrraaapppppppp!!!!!! Yeah, women aren't competitive HA!
After my son had a nasty crash on a race track in western Washington summer of 2006, narrowly avoiding ACL replacement, I set rules that in addition to straight A's in school, he had to workout and rebuild his strength before I would let him race again - earn it! He was released from PT in December and started lifting weights with me at that time.
So it's been a full season of riding & racing. The kid is in full health (except for the 4 metatarsals he broke recently, just released to ride again 10/1/07). I feel like I've hit most of my previous goals so I'm working towards some new ones.
Oct 13 & 14 will be the last weekend of motocross at our local track and I want to WIN! I finally jumped the doubles a few weeks ago (just before the boy broke his foot) so we'll hit the track this weekend for some practice and see if I can bring it home for the final races. I feel strong and comfortable on my bike (the little YZ125 on the track) so if I can just keep the throttle twisted hard we are good.
Then it's back to the Ironwoman mode for the final 3 hour harescramble of the year. I want 12 laps so I can break the women's record that I tied this spring!
In the meantime I'm working on my volleyball skills. Need to get my vertical jump back so I can block the boys on the other team better. I joined a coed team so we play every Friday night.
The kid dumped me as his workout partner because he can workout at school in health & fitness but he still spots me on my lifting evenings.
