I started lifting weights around the age of 14. I continued until I got married and had kids at the age of 23. After 10 years of marriage, we divorced and my life went to hell due to my alcohol and drug abuse. However, I can happily say that, by the grace of God, I haven't had a drink or drug since January 03, 2005. I decided to get back into lifting and do something positive with my life. I had always wanted to compete but circumstances (mainly alcohol and drugs) always prevented me from accomplishing my dreams. With the help of God, I will now achieve those dreams.
Why I Love It:
It is just me, the iron, and the force of gravity. The feeling I get when I overcome the gravitional forces with a personal record lift....PRICELESS!
How I Stay Motivated:
The never ending quest of getting bigger and stronger. Seeing the numbers in the log book get bigger and bigger.
BB Accomplishments:
Placing in the top 5 in all classes in my first year (2007) of competing.

This was taken at the beginning of my cutting phase after a 12 week mass (in reality a fat a@@ from eating way too much by not counting nutritional values) phase. I weighed 209 here.

Goal (Long):
Contest prep mode has begun. Macronutrient manipulation and cardio along with an intense workout routine will hopefully bring me in a super shredded physique at around 180-185lbs and 3% bodyfat.

I have made a decision to get involved with a worthy cause that will make a difference. I am an avid cyclist along with bodybuilding and have decided to use what I enjoy to help those who suffer from Multiple Sclerosis and hopefully make a difference in their lives.

Bobby, your pre contest prep pictures look great! Your quads have exploded in size since the Arnold to compliment your excellent arms and back. You should drop these pics in your progress section. Have a great weekend bro! -Jeff
Hey Bobby! Just thought I'd pop by ... diet has been going well. At about 3600 calories and I have been gaining about a lb a week for the last month or so. Hope all is well with you and your move has been profitable.
Hey B, the trail riding has been few and far between. For some reason, MI is still in a rainy season, at least on the days I can ride. How's the bike job going? Do you have a top secret road bike in the works? -Jeff
Hey B, how's life in DC? I saw your note to Carl that you are in contest prep mode. I'm looking forward to seeing your gains. I took a week from training and headed to Florida with the family. It was excellent and for me I did not gaining or loosing any weight. -Jeff
AWESOME work Bobby! You have built one wickedly strong low back. I can not imagine deadlifting 410! Since I have vacation and traveling coming up this month, I'm planning on hitting arms, calves and abs only for three weeks and then I may start the advanced 5X5. -Jeff
Week 9 complete! It is now hands down tough but I'm going to continue soldiering on! You are right; it will take some time for a routine to develop so that you can then start training consistently once again. Good luck, have fun and enjoy the MS ride coming up. -Jeff
Hey Bobby, great to hear from you! I was wondering how the move went. I am excited for you and looking forward to talking with you about your new career. I finished Week 7 of the 5X5 today and I sure am feeling it or maybe it's from working on my wife's car today ;) -Jeff
Thanks for getting me hooked on the 5X5 Bobby! I am amazed how far I have gone with the program and only at Week 6. I put another 15mi on the MTB today. The bike is now totally dialed in and I had an excellent ride, both speed and time improvements. Not bad for hitting squats the day before. So, what has been going on with you the past few days? -Jeff
Hey Bobby! So you gotten plugged in to the new job? Sent you an e-mail there last week with a couple of diet revisions ... when you get a chance, give it a glance if you could. Congrats on the new job bro! It has got to be exciting, eh?
