Weightlifting has been my thing off and on, but last year I started pursuing it on a more consistent basis. I was in the gym 4 to 5 days a week. I moved from CT to NJ and for about 5 months, I had not been able to get back on a routine. Now, I'm back on the move and my 3 to 5 year goal is to compete in a bodybuilding competition.
Why I Love It:
I love the idea of being in shape and I love how my muscles feel during the day. Not soar. lol. But the pump. I love that feeling.
How I Stay Motivated:
To be honest, I struggle with Self Motivation. I literally take it one day at a time. I am encouraged, however, when I'm at the gym and I can see my muscles at work. This I love. Now, if only I can take that feeling home with me.lol.
I want to lose and shed this body fat. Then I will bulk up and eventually compete.
Goal (Long):
I have been overweight for the majority part of my life. Under the fat, I do have a muscular build, and that is what I will build upon. Competition is where I'm going. See you on the stage!!!
What type of injury was it? How long were you injured? How did you recover?
I was doing the Lat Pull down exercise and I injured my arm, inside elbow. I am still recovering and it has been a few months. I've just taken a break and I haven't lifted as heavy.

What is the most common reason that somebody gets injured while lifting?
I would say either the body is not stretched properly or an individual lifts to heavy.
So my last blog was in April. Now it is a few days before 2010. I officially came out and shared that December 15th was the day that I was on the journey for bodybuilding. How is it going? It has been filled with inconsistency, lack of dedication, etc. Sounds bad, right? No. ...
Thank you for the friendship invite, I appreciate that. I wanted you to know that if you left a comment with it, I wasn't able to see it, as it had already scrolled off the page - I am sorry about that. Best wishes for continued success with your training. Please drop by anytime, I enjoy getting to know my new friends :) Hope you have a great week. ~ Jen
If you want it bad enough you can do it man! You just got to get to the point where waiting for a lean body is more important than eating a cheeseburger RIGHT NOW! It took me a while to get here....this is not my first time trying to lose weight, probably the sixth or eighth....never give up and you never fail....
Hey Man, things are going great...I can't complain...I'm still focused on my goal and trying to get my bf% down. God willing i'll be able to see my abs by mid summer. How have you been?
things are good. I have 22lbs to get to my goal of 75lbs lost. I have a feeling when I get there though that I will just set a new goal and keep rocking it out. We will see when I get there.
Hey Man, I got into lifting weights because I enjoyed the way it made me feel and of course I liked looking at the improvements in my physique. Most recently, I went through a tough break up with my gf & I needed an outlet to release all the stress, so besides church, I went to the gym, and it helped. So i'm letting God transform me mentally, spiritually and physically
Hey Man, i'm doing good. Just trying to be consistant. I'm trying to get to the 260 lbs mark. Once I get there i'll post some more progress pics. It's coming along slowly, but i'm just happy i'm finally making a chance to my physique.
I think what kept me from failing is SEEING progress. That's why I immediately posted my pix and measurements. It kept me on track. I did feel like I couldn't continue.. but then I had a cheat meal and was ok. :) Just stick to it and watch your progress.. that is a HUGE motivator! Ty for the comment! :)
Look around this website...see where some people started and where they are now. It can be done. The ones who made it...believed they could...once you believe all your excuses will fall away and you will turn into an action machine instead of an excuse machine. DONT QUIT YOU CAN DO IT.
hey, man. i read your blog. come read mine and get inspired. you will overcome that roadblock. you will meet your goals. it is just a matter of how bad you want it.
Hey I just saw your comment. Ive only been doing heavy, full-body lifting for about 3 months or so. But before that I did curls, pushups, and crunches...simple stuff.
