Goal (Long):
I would like to return to my healthy weight of 130lbs. I don't want to be overly thin, just healthy in weight and stronger in my performance. I belly dance, so I need to strengthen my core, and doing so will also slim my waist line. My cardio is not as strong as it should be, and that needs improving, as well as my flexibility. My obstacle is that I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia ten years ago, and the fatigue does, at times, hinder me. Weight training does ease the chronic pain of my condition, so I enjoy working out with weights. I want to discipline myself in my diet, in my weight training and cardio, and the passion I've shown for belly dance will hopefully spill over into this.
Weight Goal:
I want to LOSE 100 lb
Bodyfat Goal:
19%

Right now I'm starting easy because I've been away for about 5 months. So right now I'm doing 2 sets of 12-15 reps per. Then four weeks in, I'll go to 3 sets of 10-12. I gradually adjust the weight I'm working with for fatigue, but I like a lot of reps with a light weight to tone. I don't want a lot of mass. How long do you rest between sets on average? Why?
About 10-15 seconds. I rest to let my muscle adjust to what it's just done, maybe stretch it a little. But I don't want to wait to long because I want to keep the burn.

How has bodybuilding and fitness helped and/or changed your family life?
I think it has motivated my parents, who are both in their 70s, take a look at how they are eating. My mother is the classic sabotage artist. She buys things that she knows I am trying to avoid with the attitude of just because it's there doesn't mean you have to eat/drink it. However, SHE doesn't need it either! She told my dad the other day that they need to start eating more salads and vegetables and slow down on the sweets. I think I finally got through to her that I can't do this by myself.I think it has motivated my parents, who are both in their 70s, take a look at how they are eating. I started a couple of weeks ago with morning workouts before work. I found in the afternoons it was easy to shrug off workout out, especially after a bad work day.
I worked out Monday and Tuesday (abs, then push, cardio both days) and ended up shrugging off the rest of the week. Now...
I just joined and wanted to say hello to you. I was browsing groups & profiles and came across yours. I also want to strengthen my core and increase flexibility. I'm interested in learning belly dance and noticed we share several hobbies. Actually, I enjoy all of your hobbies, except I can't really sew. I would like to learn, though. Anyway, I thought I'd say hi since we had some things in common. Good luck to you!
