Personal Website:

Gym Location:
When I Started:
Jun, 2008
How I Started:
When I was at my fittest, I was a perfect weight for me (137), and I had a personal trainer. However, even though I was working out very hard every day, I was worried about not losing the fat and/or gaining weight. The trainer said I shouldn't eat less than about 1400 calories a day, but I kept eating too few calories while working out hard. I quickly lost every bit of muscle and definition I had gained. I'm going into this with awareness that I don't want something similar to happen again. My body is currently mush. I finished chemo and radiation in December for (triple-negative, Stage I) breast cancer at the age of 39. So I have some work to do to regain my strength, stamina, and muscle, and lose fat.
Why I Love It:
I don't. I would like to. I'm looking for motivation.
How I Stay Motivated:
I'm seeking to *gain* motivation. I don't have much motivation in hand right now.
BB Accomplishments:
I'm alive. I beat cancer. Now I'm going to build a stronger body.

I had just turned 39, and this was my first day of chemo. No bra, and a seriously unflattering picture, but you really don't care on chemo day. I probably weighed around 171-174 here. My highest weight ever was about 179, which was at the end of treatment (chemo and radiation).
Taken a little over a month after joining bodybuilding.com. Changed to a pescetarian diet, cut back the carbs, and hit the gym. These pants were TIGHT in May! Yesterday I dropped them in a charity bin! Happy to be making progress.

I saw my primary MD today. I was a new patient back on 02/28/2008. On that day he told me "Join a gym." I said I would love to but couldn't afford it. He said, "Take it out of your food budget." He wasn't being mean; he was just being matter of fact. I was sharing that I had...
My wife (bodyspace judimax) and I would love to see you make your fitness goals become reality. Judimax went from a size 12/14 to a 4/6 and I lost over 50 lbs going from 36 to 10% bodyfat in just 12 weeks by following the Body for Life program. Push yourself; possibly out of your comfort zone and you may be amazed at the results and the speed that they can occur. Let us know if we can be of assistance.
Thanks so much for the nice comment on my picture. :) If you do not mind me asking, how did you find out about your breast cancer? I just found a lump and am a bit worried. Can they diagnose without a biopsy? Thanks for any help.
