Wanted to get back to it. In 2001 I was 275lbs. Started losing weight at that point, mostly through diet and some gym work. Got down to 235lbs and was diagnosed Type II. Got down to 220lbs and am now back to 245lbs. Sugar is good. It's time for everything else to "be good" as well!
Why I Love It:
Already in just over a weeks time, I can feel the improved energy level. After three weeks the fat is starting to come off. I like the control I am exerting over my body.
How I Stay Motivated:
Remembering my written goals. Looking at pictures of bodies that I like and can possibly emulate. Repeating my written goals....
BB Accomplishments:
I'll let ya know!

Just starting...ugh.
At this point I am 14 weeks into my program. I am down 25lbs
Just basically tired of being the overweight guy. I know that if I work at it I can have the body that I want. So....that's what I am going to do.
3-month goal is to drop 26 pounds and get to 220lbs. Body fat % during that same time is to drop from 33% (uck) to 26%.
...almost made it. Gave myself another 2 weeks, to the day we leave for St. Thomas, August 28th, to be at 220. Should make it. Then it's a week away. Maintaining the weight through the vacation will be the key....
The 6-month goal, through the second 13-week iteration, ending December 1st, 2008, is another 26lbs to 194lbs total and another 7% in body fat to 19%. After that I can envision cutting fat still but maintaining the weight at 200 or so. Ultimately I would like to be around 210 with 12-15% body fat.
PHAT.
How long do you rest between sets on average? Why?
20 to 40 seconds. As I have really just started out, I like the idea of keeping my heart rate up while I move through the full body lifting period of my workout.
Sitting here at work. Lunch hour now so the 'Net Nanny on the system is off and BodyBuilding.com becomes accessible. Bored outta my skull. It's Friday, people are bailing left and right. Did get to eat lunch with my hubby. Working out late afternoon but have to wait until at least 3pm...
never heard of the Dive. I am use to the Center City clubs, but it has been a long time. and I forgot about the non-smoking ruling now.
JD, nah, burboun here.
never heard of the Black cat, I am gonna have to look that one up.
I go to the Rebel Yell, not a big store, and when I want sonethin good I go to holts or in New Hope there a shop, I forget the name. We also have Burdicks nice shop.
ok what do you drink with a good cigar?
VSOP? that is my choice.
maybe we can meet for a smoke?
Bill, even though it doesn't look like you've made any progress, you have. You've decided to take action. work hard, stick with it and you'll do great! Best of luck!
I've read that carbs make your blood sugar flucuate (which could be the reason why you were tired afterwards). During meals with a higher carb load, trying stabilizing it with protein
If you really want to lose weight and get into great shape I believe it is best to follow a simple and proven program such as Body for Life. I lost over 50 lb’s and went from 36 to 10% bodyfat and my wife (bodyspace: judimax) went from a size 12/14 to a 4/6 in only 12 weeks by following the Body for Life program. Push yourself, possibly out of your comfort zone and you may be amazed at the results and how fast they happen. It will be well worth the effort.
I began at almost the exact same point as you. I began in January but didnt start with this site until february. morning cardio and eliminating simple sugars has done it for me.
