Overall Goal: Workout intensely each day (except rest day) until October 9th. Get through the next two days and then jump on board with clean eating,
Fit Status:
Not losing much poundage, but bodyfat went down a tad. I'm in a survival week now and will pick up the pieces Monday.

When I Started:
Jan, 2009
How I Started:
I was at my ultimate low in health. At 200 lbs. and back into maternity pants 9 months after I had my baby (not because I was pregnant again, but because maternity is the only thing that would fit around my increasing girth!), I passed on my own birthday brownies because I was so disgusted with myself and how I felt. I couldn't stand to put another thing in my mouth. I've never felt that way about myself, so I knew it was time to make a change in a big way.
Why I Love It:
I used to have back injuries frequently, joint pain, and be unable to finish a family hike because I was so out of shape. Now I can take the lead on a family hike, I've decreased my back pain, and my husband and I make a date of biking 40+ miles. These are great changes! It's all thanks to my working out and building muscle. I love it!
How I Stay Motivated:
I monitored my progress by taking what I call 'fat pictures' in a ridiculous black bikini. Now that I can't see changes as well, I'm switching to monitoring my progress through weighing in once a week and measuring my bodyfat once a week. This will keep me honest.
BB Accomplishments:
I went from maternity pants to a size 12. That's a big deal for me. My goal is to be slim enough to comfortably fit in a size 6 or 8 pants, but we'll see how happy I am as I progress and I bet I'll be great with whatever size pant I'm in when my bodyfat is around 19-20%.

Notice the folds of fat along my back, the big chin, and the BIG belly of toxic fat. Wow. This was right before I began workout out and trying to eat right. I wanted to document how bad I had gotten because I never intend to descend that low again. EVER. Over 200 lbs and over 30% bf
My face is starting to get lean. Yeah! I look as happy as I feel inside and about my progress.

Goal (Long):
I'd like to work out 6 days a week on a specific workout plan (finish the advanced level of Jenny Hendershot's, then move on to Lance Armstrong's 7 week beginner program.) This would involve getting a heart rate monitor and specifying my workouts more once I get to that level. That's 9 weeks down the road, though.
By December, I'd like to have the transformation complete and be at a 20% bodyfat and hopefully that means I'm nearer a 160 wt., but I'll be happy with whatever weight a 20% bodyfat equals.
I want to change from the inside, change my desires, so I'm hoping this can happen as I eat clean, planned, well-balanced meals, feed my children that way, and find healthy activities to reward myself for a good week's work.
He's my dad and I think he's great! He's always giving me upbeat comments about my fitness efforts and never chides me for being fat, even though I am. He is all about inspiring me to do better through positive feedback. Thanks, Dad.
Since you've been working out, taking supplements and eating right, how often do you get sick (cold, flu, etc.)?
Rarely

Do you have any type of chronic disease or condition?
Yes
What is it?
Celiac Disease
How does fitness help you with your condition? What do you have to do differently in your program since you have this condition?
Being fit helps me choose whole grains for my baking instead of refined flours (like tapioca, potato starch flour, white rice flour). Because I have this condition, I have to avoid the bars and shakes with carbs (because they contain gluten), so I stick to plain whey protein. I also avoid any pastas, breads, or cereals with gluten and instead make my own breads, etc. Being fit helps me choose whole grains for my baking instead of refined flours (like tapioca, potato starch flour, white rice flour). I'm working on finishing the last half of Jenny Henderhsot's Curvelle lifestyle advanced 9-wk program. I've done her beginning and intermediate programs, which has got me to where I am (175 lbs instead of 200, but I don't know how fat I used to be...)
thats really awesome, please hang in there and be strict and dedicated, and the changes WILL come, they have no choice, you will see. Im great!friday tomorrow!yeah!
LOOK at YOU girl?!! WOW!! You can definitely tell you've been bustin your bootay!! Congratulations! Keep up the hard work, it's obviously paying off! Keep me posted on your BFL journey:)
Thank-you! the kids are doing very well, but wish there were nicer days to go to the park. :) I never thought about starting a journal thread, I thought it was only for people competing or other such interesting stuff. LoL
That takes courage to be photographed at the worst point, and even more courage to share it with the world. You HAVE made an amazing change, and the best is yet to come. I'm proud of your determination. You are beautiful.
Hi AnnaMay, ahhh, stress... yes, I've had those stressful times. What you must remember is in order for everyone else to be happy, YOU must be happy. If your not getting your workouts in your not going to be happy. Right?! Above all, you need to make time for yourself. If that is the one thing I've learned in my old age, I NEED to make time for myself. I'm a much better wife, mom, & friend for it.
Girl I am not seeing any progress. I took some pics earlier this month and didn't even bother to post because I feel like I don't look any different that I did in March:(
Thanks;) I had a killer leg workout. I was walking crazy when I left the gym. I love that. I had a good day at work and got something I needed. So I am in a much better place tonight.
