I do cardio first thing in the morning on an empty stomach. I cut out carbs @ night (no carbs after 6pm). I also change my carb intake throughout the day (decrease it) and increase my protein intake. I try to do HIIT cardio some days after working out in addition to my morning cardio. Diet does a lot when leaning out bro.
Hey there. Chest routine varies, but I tend to like to split up exercises into upper/lower pecs versus just straight on like flat bench. Do you use mostly free weights or machines or both?
Great news, Brian Dobson (Owner of Metroflex Gym)in Arlington, Texas has open his schedule for 2008 to add 5 one hour training slots each week. Brian is the guy who trained 8 times Mr. Olympia Ronnie Coleman and Pro Branch Warren. Brian is offering a fee of just $50 per hour for his services. Normally for someone his level would be $100 plus per hour. Go to the next level in 2008 and learn from the legend. Check out www.metroflexgym.com about Metroflex and for Brian's contact information.
Thanks for visiting my profile. I do chest on Mondays. Bench press 200lbs 5 reps of 5 sets. Dumbbell flys warm up at 25lbs and work 35lbs for 4 sets of 10.
Pump up those guns! I'm going to be teaching math. I used to work 9-10 hours in an office so teaching is going to be a huge cut in hours which gives me more time to workout.
I've been concentrating on big lifts like rows bench squats and deadlifts. I'm going to be adding in some more exercises come September where I'll have more time to lift and rest.
Start with Barbell curls with the 45lb olympic bar. Then do standing curls with Dumbells and then Preacher curls on a Hammer Strength machine if your gym has it. That will get you started.
How long you've been training? I would suggest that you try to do some workouts with active rest. That means that If you are doing chest and biceps, you do your chest exercise, immediately followed by a bicep exercise with no break. Keep doing this back and forth. This brings up the heart rate, and increases calorie consumption during the workout. You can also jog in place, do jumping jacks etc. Never stay still during a workout. Once it is time to bulk, you can then rest as normal.
To Lean down, I personally cut out all empty calories (all sugars, sodas, and alcohol). Everything I eat has to have protein or complex carbs in it. I don't go too crazy though as I have a faster metabolism. My cardio would consist of sprints, as I find longer cardio to be boring. What are you looking to do? I am not sure where you are in your diet and exercise plan right now.
I appreciate the comment. I will have to say when it comes to being lean it all comes with the diet and understanding your body composition. My diet composes mainly of egg whites, chicken and salmon. Then I throw in plenty of green vegetables with some fruit and 100% organic whole wheat breads. Pretty simple and dull but it works for me. Just work with your body and see what happens. Take care my man.
Hey man. I agree with The_Real_XN. It's a lot about diet. Same thing with gaining weight. I think the small meal idea is good. Just make sure you stay active during the day so you can burn off any extra calories.
