Fitness and being active have always been a big part of my life. Growing up it was gymnastics, track & field, and cross country. In college I picked up my love for aerobics and group exercise classes in fact I was even a step aerobics instructor for a couple years. After college I needed an outlet for all of my energy and joined a local gym to stay in shape. Joining a local gym turned out to be the best idea as this is where I met my husband Doug Martin. Doug really helped give me a foundation for weight training. While I knew some of the basics, he helped me understand proper form, the concepts of sets, and what exercises should be paired together. After I started getting the hang of it, I was hooked. I also have to credit my husband for sparking my interest in figure competitions. He was preparing to compete in bodybuilding at the 2007 Indianapolis NPC Bodybuilding and Figure championships and encouraged me to compete in figure. This was one of the best experiences of my life, I placed 1st in my class and won the Overall title. Needless to say, I’m hooked again
Why I Love It:
Fitness is something that has always been in my heart and mind. It gives me goals to work towards and makes me feel happy and confident. I often feel compelled to be the best me I can be and staying healthy and strong certainly support this.
How I Stay Motivated:
I love to set goals for myself and work towards them.

Thanks! Hope your day was a great one! I played softball tonight. I don't play again till next week. So have you had lot of storms in Indy this past week? We have down here in the southern part of the state.
Hey, Amy Lee. Wonderful avi and thought you presented an exceptional figure in LA at the Cal Pro. No doubt you deserved a higher finish and will continue to shine. Stay strong & motivated!
