I was a varsity volleyball player in high school so since 7th grade, I would run 3 miles a day and lift weights in the summer to prep for the upcoming seasons. I joined the Air Force in 2002 and a year later, I got stationed in Georgia. My barracks were a block from the gym, and lets just say I became a total gym rat...7 days a week, 3 hours a day.
Why I Love It:
I love it because no matter what happens, the gym is always there for you. Pushing yourself through a workout is total stress relief and nothing feels better than finishing an intense non stop workout.
How I Stay Motivated:
I love it when men at the gym are like, "damn, you can lift more than me" or when others ask for advice, because then you know you're doing something right. This is probably lame to some of you, but I'm also one of those girls that prefer to workout in just a sports bra because I find that when walk I show more skin, I expect more from myself because I want to see the muscle contractions and the abs.
BB Accomplishments:
Really nothing. I used to do Air Force fitness competitions for fun when I was deployed and I'd always get 1st or 2nd...it was easy money! I have also run a 1/2 marathon..which really isn't anything to brag about considering people do 13 miles everyday.

Pain is temporary. It may last a minute, or an hour, or a day, or a year, but eventually it will subside and something else will take its place. If I quit, however, it lasts forever. --Lance Armstrong

I'm working heavy on my abs coming through right now.....
What type of injury was it? How long were you injured? How did you recover?
I've herniated a disc in my back, which pinched my sciatic nerve so I couldn't feel my left foot for a month.... it took several months...but I lifted and did ellliptical through the entire process... try lifting weights while on muscle relaxers. nice.I've herniated a disc in my back, which pinched my sciatic nerve so I couldn't feel my left foot for a month.... it took several months...but I lifted and did ellliptical through the entire process......more

Hey Amy how ya been? You still on vacation getting ripped? Same old here, although two food servers almost threw down yesterday in the chow hall..that would have been halarious!
I am glad to hear you made it home safely and taking full advantage of it. Hopefully the job will keep you in one place for a while. Drink a couple for me. Take care.
Yeah I hear ya on the middle east! I would def go for South America after enjoying your summer back home. Our winter is thier summer so you cant go wrong there.
Way to rub in your beverages! Naa, enjoy yourself while your back home...It isn't worth it out here. Yeah I saw that, I never doubted you though. When you started divulging your diet with bee pollen, 3 different kinds of oats, and all that other stuff I realized you know way more about this stuff than I ever will! When you coming back out?
New progress pics are looking great. Glad to see you are sticking with it even stateside. I hope I can do the same when it is my time to come home. Great job!
