How I Started:
Tired of being the skinny guy. I want something better for myself.
Achievement isn't about how much you can bench, how high you can jump, how good your abs look, how many points you can score in a game, or how many awards you can win in a lifetime. Achievement is about striving to better yourself, little by little, each day. It's about growing spiritually, mentally, physically, emotionally, and socially. It's about overcoming adversity while practicing humility. It's about loving God, loving each other, and allowing yourself to be a light of encouragement to those around you.
Why I Love It:
Great stress reliever. My body is the only thing I have some sort of control over, so I want to try to look and feel the best that I can. It's pretty cool when people I haven't seen in a while notice a difference.
How I Stay Motivated:
FAITH.
Seeing other friends and family let themselves go down a path and give up. I want to live an example for others, not just physically, but in every way.
Feeling good. THE PUMP! The soreness the next day, knowing you really pushed yourself on that last workout. Staying healthy. Knowing that when I'm in my 40s and 50s (and 90s, dare I say) I'll be able to do the things I enjoy today. Wanting to look better for myself. Getting compliments from others. Seeing results.
BB Accomplishments:
None......yet. I'd eventually like to be a fitness model to earn some extra $$ to help pay for medical school. Maybe in a year?

This man is dedicated to the sport and to helping others. This guy is my first inspiration to change the way I lived my life. Last March I was searching for tips on nutrition and lifting on youtube.com and found his videos. Very inspirational. He made it seem doable...so I did it and haven't looked back since. Thanks Josh! YOU ROCK!
Her dedication, charisma, encouragement, BIG HEART, perseverance, knowledge about life and the life of bodybuilding, her winning smile, her humor, and her FRIENDSHIP. She knows what it takes to be healthy, live a fulfilling life, and have fun all the while. An example for all men & women of all ages. No task is too big/too small for her 5'2" frame. She is a firm foundation. She is a gentle voice when you feel like giving up. She is a shining star. A glimmer of hope. :)
I honestly have not had ANY time to lift this week AT ALL! 7AM-6:30PM I'm in the clinic, 6:45PM-9:45PM I had to work on a project and eat dinner while doing so, gym closes at 10 PM, and I try to get to bed b/w 10 and 10:30. At least...
Hey man, great progress pics! Nice size. I saw your fit status about light weights...how often to you switch up the weights? I've never tried it but think I'm going to go about a wk using light weights/higher reps, just to switch it up
Dude, I've just been eatin' right for a change. I started keeping track of my macros to make sure I was meeting goals. I'm steadily adding the pounds. What's up with you, man?
I think the def is lookin' just fine! U probably have had one of the best transformations in such a short ime period I've seen on this site....Really great job..... And 70+hrs???? What do u do?
Wow...sounds like you are enjoying yourself. I loved surgery so much. Transplant and trauma was the two I wanted to do....but during my residency I got pregnant..Emergency med was my best fit for a Mom...shift work is what I needed...gave me the most time with my family. Anesth..is a great choice also...Keep up the great job....what year are you again?
Hey Andrew...how goes the surgery rotation? Hoping you are getting some sleep and a few workouts in there... Ah...so long ago for me...but great memories...LOL
Awesome progress yourself! Especially in your back...! Whatever your doing is $$$. Congradulations on your weight gain as well! We must stay focused!!!
:) no prob. Just stay focused like you've been doing, and don't let any distractions get in your way. None. Finish med school, and be a kickass doc. ;)
